Thank you for trading Christian Wood and turning him into TyTy, Stone. Thank you for trading Harden and turning him into Tari, and everything else that will become of the Harden trade for the next 5 years, Stone. Thank you for not signing Oladipo, Stone. Oh… and Stone? Thank you for tanking the past 2 years.
Great thread. I was actually worried we'd draft him but it turns out I was just giving too much voice to some message board dinosaurs. I would take him in the second round though. Duren is a project in the sense that in 3 years, he'll be a big that would fit in the NBA 15 years ago - i.e. just execute defense, rebound and screens at an NBA level. Then he'll need between 2 and 5 seasons to gain any kind of skill for his defender not to harass the franchise player (in our case, Jalen Green) when they attack the basket. Who the F needs a project that needs longer than their rookie first rounder contract to not be a negative on half the possessions in a basketball game? There's no difference between an offense-only player and a defense-only player, the net is the same except in crunch time where you would prefer to have the all offense player. Some people have an odd obsession with this player type. Can grab those cheap all the time, never ever waste a first round pick on it not even a late one. He's just Bismack Biyombo basically.
Thank you Spurs, Wiz, Thunder, Pistons, Hornets, Cavs, and Hawks for not selecting Tari ( The Star-i )
No he would have been great as a development project. He will be a stud role player in a few years. If he ever develops an outside shot he’ll be more than that. Knicks are the dumb ones. They should have stayed where they were and taken him.
