lol could see this coming a mile away

He opts in or signs a big extension…. “What a loser bum who only cares about money and not winning.”

Takes a “pay cut” allowing roster flexibility when in reality he’s going to get all the money he gave up back on a future new deal….”this loser bum couldn’t get anyone to seriously pay him so he HAD to take less, it was never about roster flexibility”

This is comical... I did... How about you try quoting and responding to what I actually just said instead of ignoring it.

I pointed out how you misinterpreted it... You think Morey traded assets to essentially sign Harden to a one year deal? You think he did that trade and the subsequent signings of former Rockets without planning to sign Harden to a longer term deal? You simply lack awareness or are being willfully ignorant as to what Morey is doing.... Are you unaware of their relationship and the almost certainty of tampering going on? Yep apparently lol... There were also communications(tampering) definitely that happened with PJ Tucker before June 30.... As everyone knew he was signing with the Sixers days before FA and for how much... Also days before the Harden paycut which was required to sign him(tampering).... Then the day of FA he was then immediately signed.

I provided more reason and evidence for my claim than you did.... You ignored all of it

Yes he forced trades in attempt to win and also turned down more money to better his roster in an attempt to win now....

Your reading comprehension fails and your ignorance persists when it comes to actually reading.

Another claim not supported by the evidence... He forced himself out of Houston in an attempt to win now.... He could've stayed like Beal and likely got a supermax here.... He could've signed a max extension with BKN after the first season, but he declined and he wanted out of BKN to Philly because he wanted to win and the Kyrie situation was a clear roadblock to that.... And we see how that turned out... And now he literally just took a paycut to help his team get better.

I was clear the first time... So let's try again and see if you can comprehend.

A 2 year guaranteed deal with no option required would do exactly what you just said... Yes or No? YES.

The 2nd year option though... Allows Harden to opt out next June where he can then resign a longer term deal up to 209 M over the next 4 yrs on a new max contract (salary cap threshold is estimated at $133 M).

Exactly and when they're inevitably proven wrong they'll shift the goalpost to something else. Yes let's ignore all the surrounding context of what's happening here.. ****ing clowns

From where? From which team? Who was going to give him 4- years at max money after last year’s finish? Getting beat is one thing, but looking old & slow while doing it is another. The guy is past his prime and not an elite player anymore. Those days are over. It happens to all athletes, no one plays forever. If the Sixers would have maxed him for four years, you would have Embiid publicly asking for a trade. The Sixers made the best move they could make.

No it wasn't going to be a 4yr max this off-season and that wasn't the claim.

I already went over this in subsequent posts...

Yesterdays Lowe Post talking Harden and Philly

    https://dcs.megaphone.fm/ESP3335486497.mp3?key=935d1edd9f900b21058c1aa37a329776

    Paraphrasing :

“I expect Philly to be right in the mix of the top 3 of the East” “I love all the moves Philly made” “James Harden the no doubt top 10 player is gone, not coming back…James Harden the all star, borderline 3rd team all nba guy… I don’t think that’s out of the question…” “As bad as it ended, he was still great in the regular season and I can’t stop mentioning that once the trade was made no pick and roll combo dominated more than Harden and Embiid…”

Apparently Zach Lowe has transitioned to being a clueless homer Harden nuthugger. Or something like that.

And yet you're unwilling to copy and paste it.....

    That says a lot.

    I didn't misinterpret anything.

It sounds like you're unfamiliar with the phrase "sunk cost".

Do you think Morey expected Harden to play so poorly? Absolutely not. I'm sure he expected Harden to be a stud and worthy of big extension, but that's not what happened.

You used a lot of words to say absolutely nothing. A GM trying to acquire role players that complement his high usage players?

    Stop the presses!!

Because it was all conjecture. Nothing based on actual events.

Where's your source that he turned down more money?

The sentences you quoted were literally the evidence....

This makes no sense. You're essentially arguing that Harden expected Irving to sit out the final two years of his contract.

A "pay-cut" that gives him more guaranteed money and insurance in case he has another garbage year.

Seriously, work on your reading comprehension.

Here's what I previously wrote (that you said was flawed): A 2 year contract with a player option in the 2nd year serves only to protect Harden in case he has another garbage season.

If you still disagree with this statement, then you really don't understand the nature of player options. If you agree with me, then I'm glad you've learned something.

What if harden dominates this upcoming season, is Zach Lowe saying he won’t vote him 1st or 2nd team all nba

I think the point he was trying to make was he thinks the talk of Hardens demise has gone a bit(way) too far. Not some definite proclamation of the ceiling to which he would vote his performance for the upcoming season.

Harden's given up partying and just plays Call of Duty while eating vegetables instead

Same guys when he had “no help”, same guys they’ll blame when they (the Sixers) come up short. @Salvy

    LOL whatever it takes

I just can’t at thsi point, I love how his fans above are frothing at the mouth they’ve been given a kernel to get it up with. You know they’re gonna be stroking to it all season long. I like James and cheered for him harder than any player I ever have. The truth though is he’s a winner at life (look at all he’s accomplished), but ultimately not a winner on the court. An entire thesis documenting countless games and even the lengths of excuses
His fanbois have to goto can be written about how he’s probably the biggest choker/ poster boy for mental midget in NBA history

    LMAO, from the article

The Sixers signed defensive specialist P.J. Tucker away from Miami for three years, $33 million; signed shooter Danuel House to two years, $8.5 million; picked up combo guard De’Anthony Melton via a trade; and signed Trevelin Queen, the 2021-22 G League MVP.

These are the guys that are going to get Harden past Giannis, Butler, Tatum? Its comical

Harden literally opt out of his player option and signed a discount contract to help his chances to win a ring. And folks still btch about that.

Imagine if wb and wall pull that sht. Folks on here would have praised walls name if he opted out. Ditto for Lakers. Mad respect 2 harden, at least he doing whatever it takes to win a ring unlike our cheap a$$ owner who says the same sht while doing the opposite.

Harden had a down season but folks acting like 20ish/10 per season is being a bum.

I hope he bounce back. The league is more fun when there is more strong teams

I'm pretty positive Harden slept with some of y'all's family members. Only you would find a way to to take what he did and spin it into hate. It's pretty remarkable how you go out of your way to hate on a man.

The new, new is “so yeah he gave up money for roster flexibility, but THAT’S who they used it on? Stupid Harden”

Interesting he decided to have his wine launch event a Catch LA which is a Tilman owned restaurant. The signing at a discount stuff doesn't make sense to me, what quality contributors are available even for them to sign? They don't really have the ability to trade for a third star with Toby's contact, unless Harden has been injured the last 2 years and somehow returns to Houston James Harden form I just see them being stuck in mediocrity.

    Two truths and a lie.

A team with James Harden as the main option can’t win a Championship.

A team with James Harden off the bench can’t make the Finals.

A team with James Harden as the second option can’t win a Championship.
