KPJ will never be more than a scrub that we should just cut. After all, he got mad and threw some food when he was 19 and one time when 20 or 21 he got pissed and left the Arena at half time when the Rockets were playing miserably.

Can you imagine what people would think if KPJ had slapped a player in the middle of a game as a 22 year old rookie and then followed it up a few years later by refusing to suit up for a game then later slapping a teammate?

It would be funny to see how the current crop of fans would have reacted to a young Olajuwon.... they'd probably take the side of Don Chaney.

Simple. Young Akeem was a #1 pick who led his college team to b2b title games and the Rockets to the finals in 86 and was putting up monstrous numbers through those ugly years after. He could have shat on the logo and we'd clean it up and congratulate him on his high fiber diet. Before Charlie Thomas and Patterson accused him of faking injury for a contract renegotiation, Akeem just had some on court scuffles that were common in the day. The Mad Max slap was a result of him being disrespectful and ignoring Hakeem to stop spitting on the court. A leader fighting and getting his team in line is again common for the era and just like Kerr respecting MJ after the punch, Max respected Hakeem for the slap.

If you can't see the difference between what KPj has done as a nobody in college and pros, then you're blinded by this crusade to be right that KPj is going to be some mega super star that Hakeem already WAS for a decade or more. I get it, when i'm high on a prospect, i keep rooting for them to prove me right. I swore to all my friends Luther Head was the next Gilbert Arenas and Marshon Brooks was the next Kobe.

That isn't it at all @Caesar it is just that young guys do stupid stuff, and we shouldn't judge him based upon what he did at 19-20, many times guys mature and learn how to control their emotions.

And right now, we aren't winning crap, so might as well let him mature......and teach rather than trash for stupid reasons - if the org believes in him so should we.

At least cheer for him - if he does well good for us, as he is a better trade asset and better player.....

Now that wood is gone I knew the KPJ hate would multiply lol. He’s young and has made some mistakes, but I think he’s maturing and has turned the corner. He’s our PG and folks on here want him to fail, rather than rooting for him to succeed. Y’all are ridiculous.

I'm fully on board with taking advantage of his contract and seeing what we got. I've mentioned i would have liked to see some mental challenges thrown his way, but by all means, lets see if he can be a star and fit with Green long term. I'm in the -1 more tank year- group so i'm not expecting much from the team anyway, but i do want to place Green and Jabari and even Tari in situations where they can grow and standing around watching a Harden style player isn't very good for their development.

As I see it, the difference is that we make excuses for Olajuwon, giving him the benefit of the doubt every time and assuming if he did something he was always right to do it based on how things turned out in his career..... for KPJ you have a certain group of fans who assume the worst any time they hear a story about him.

45.5% of the three's they took last year, there was no defender within 6 feet. That's good offense.

They also attempted more FT's than any other team - the only team to surpass 2000 on the season (2010), Knicks were #2 with 1980.

That’s awesome…and also underscores just how bad they are at shooting them if they took that many wide open shots and still were a bottom tier shooting percentage team. It’s almost as though people conceded the 3s if Houston was willing to shoot them.

This is the standard CF is holding Scoot to, fairly or unfairly.

I would guess 18, 6, & 4. He has an inconsistent motor and isn’t a true point (but he is definitely the best on the roster) but also the shooting around him still won’t be great. Wood was a good shooter. Replace him with a rookie Jabari and numbers drop. Rookies take time to adjust their shooting. Green could improve or stay the same for a bit. Tate I don’t buy. Sengun, who knows? So, I just don’t see KPJ as a high assists guy anytime soon. There are plenty of lifelong points who don’t average 7 or more assists for their career and that is fine. His scoring should go up but not a ton.

All KPJ has to do is just come out, listen to his coaches don't cause issues and play great to decent PG/Combo guard and there is not much anyone can say if he improves.

the narrative comes from a style of assist. when you pound the rock for 20 seconds then finally give it up for someone to make a bucket it's not the same as getting others involved early and finishing a play at the end of an action.

While Scooter is a bit too flashy with his handle I thought he did well for a 1st year "PG". Kevin was trying to find himself and while he may not be a pure passer he has skills in that department that not many other players have on the roster. I'd much rather have him handle the ball if nobody else can. Im thinking there will be more organic ball movement this year with the addition of true shooters, but last year Scooter would set up players all the time only for them to clank the shot or turn it over. If he passed it to Wood then thats where the ball movement would stop. The offense should look much better this year with a more team oriented approach. Our offense was just as bad as our defense last year and that wasnt courtesy of only one player.

Externally - doesn't matter, rumors or what he THINKS doesn't matter.....what you posted is equivalent to a fan on here saying the same thing.

    That is just not true.

News is actual NEWS where facts are given out, opinion pieces, like Rachel and Tucker, or Cumo are that - but NEWS actually reports on facts and when they get something wrong they retract it.

We used to have a law about calling yourself NEWS when you weren't - we really need to reinact the Fairness in broadcasting act.
