He looks like he has all world defender potential. That’s exciting. His jumper will start falling at some point. Shooting is the one thing I’m not worried about.

Great pick and exactly what we needed.

Duh, Stone did inquire. I guess Orlando would have been willing if Stone gave up the farm for it. But if he did, he should be fired.

Jabari didn't have a good shooting night, but the amount of near misses was a good sign. A good amount of his shots were rim out shots.

Also, his defense is pretty incredible, he has legitimate potential to guard 1-5.

Someone said he looks like a tall Ariza. I think he kinda does. That’s not a bad thing.

Not from Rockets' perspective but from Jabari Smith's perspective, what a blessing in disguise to go #3 and not #1. The pressures of being #1 and early struggles wouldn't have helped him. He's at a great spot with the Rockets. Doesn't have to be the man right away because he's got Jalen Green whereas in Orlando, there isn't a clear cut best player. Just play tough defense, get open, hit open shots

Yeah Green will definitely bring some attention away from Jabari

It’s really remarkable and impressive the mentality of this kid.

At just 19 years old and to have a defense first mentality and whatever it takes to win mentality and by any means necessary is really rare especially for todays young generation of NBA players.

You don’t know that for one. Also, I’m not the one claiming he’s Lebron or Luka.

At this point, given the type of players we've seen dominate the league in recent years, having a guy who gives a **** on the defensive end is a huge plus.

It's tough to teach good defense if you don't care to learn it.

He's clearly shown more to us on defense than Wood did in all his games on the Rockets. That's a very welcome change.

Love paolo (moot), but I’m not disappointed or down on Jabari at all.

His shot will come around but that defense should be consistently there.

There is something about his body type that only elite players have. Wait till he bulk up. Long skinny yet dense with quick and coordinated hands. He really gonna have shot at dpoy one day

Truth be told none of the players from this class come close to top5 last year. Like we all look at how dominating Banchero looks and then you watch Jalen last year and it's different stratosphere
