I’m all in on the unintentional intentional tank. Play your youngsters and develop them as a team. The one issue with getting rid of all your big contracts is that it severely limits your trade capabilities for a star caliber player. You have to have more than just draft picks in order to match salaries. That may be the main reason that Stone is so intent on hanging on to Gordon unless he is blown away with an offer. Gordon’s expiring contract after this season added to picks can get you in the conversation for a trade and a FA when we are truly ready to take the next step.

You don’t need to match salaries when you have cap space. In fact, it’s much preferable to receive a huge TPE for over the cap teams.

I'm not a Sengun fan; but I can see him as our PF (offensively)
Guarding the opposing teams Center (defensively)

    Porter
    Green
    Jabari
    Sengun
    Myles Turner

It works because both Sengun and Turner can hit some 3's and
    Myles Turner can guard 4/5

You don't get better without great players.

No one is knocking the door down to sign as a Free Agent.

You have a roster full of 19-20 year olds .... They are going to be bad. No stopping it.

What the hell do you want them to do?

I'd love to watch them win 50+ games and be contenders too .... but you have to take your lumps to get there.

They could over pay Free Agent XXX and maybe win 10 more games. Wonderful, now you screwed up your cap and missed out on a top 3 pick just to win 35 games instead of 20.

They are not going to get better until they hit on a game changer in the draft .... and they only have 1 more chance at doing that before they have to pay the piper for the Westbrook trade, OKC getting any pick outside the top 4 in 2024, top 10 swap in 25 and top 4 in 26.

As good as he was offensively, he was just as bad on the other end .... you couldn't count on him to defend the rim / paint at all.
I would have liked to have seen him play the 3 spot before he was traded away, I think that's his natural position despite his size / length.

No one disputed that Wood was a very good shooter, his problems are all between his ears.

His selfishness and inconsistent effort are the only things that kept Wood from being a star.

With the Mavs you will see that better version. Playing that Porzingis
role next to Doncic. Better Porzingis version.

Wood was hurt every 10th game before joining Houston....why get
hurt for a team tanking? How does that increase your value on
    the market?

Yep, should tell you how trash his attitude and defense was that Stone gave him up for a low FRP (not that anyone else was offering much more).

Wood was on an expiring and taking up valuable oxygen needed to develop our prospects. TyTy plus two 2nds was more than fair value imo.

With just 2 acquisitions, Rockets can become ELITE on 1 side of the ball.

Trade for Myles Turner AND Matisse Thybulle so Rockets can have LOCKDOWN rim protection AND switch defense.

    To Sixers
    Eric Gordon
    Joe Harris

    To Pacers
    John Collins
    Rockets 2024 FRP (Swap option)

    To Hawks
    Kevin Durant
    KJ Martin

    To Nets
    Tobias Harris
    Bogdan Bogdanovic
    David Nwaba
    Usman Garuba
    Hawks 2023 FRP
    Hawks 2024 FRP
    Pacers 2025 FRP (Lottery Protected)
    Rockets 2027 FRP (Lottery Protected)
    Hawks 2029 FRP
    Sixers 2029 FRP
    Hawks 2024 FRP (Swap option)
    Hawks 2028 FRP (Swap option)
    Hawks 2025 SRP
    Hawks 2026 SRP

    To Rockets
    Myles Turner
    Matisse Thybulle
    Jalen Johnson
    Pacers 2023 FRP (Swap option)

    KPJ/Tyty/Nix
    Green/Jaygup/Mathews
