And who says we didn't? Why does it matter who the current Dirk is? The point is that there are MULTIPLE WAYS to create your own shot. A big with guard handles is simply one of them. Almost as funny as someone proclaiming who is or isn't a top prospect without either player having played even a single official NBA game.
Dirk is not an all-time great. His championship is a matter of lucky circumstances. In today's NBA, prime Dirk is barely a top 10 player. Anyone with basketball IQ would already know this.
Every great player is a great ball handler....Janeiro must improve his handles or he is just going to be a plain 3 and D player.....players who are drafted in the top 3 are hoping to be stars and not roll players...I still believe in Jabari. I seen too many of Jabari's games in the SEC when everybody in the building knew he was getting the ball and he came through. He was nervous...he is better player than last night.
It would be much smarter for JC to try to fill that void, rather than being a selfish, undersized ballhog.
Great handles, cannot be stopped scoring at all 3 levels, guard the best player on the other team and WILL his team to win in close games....Alpha Male Personality.
Lmao you’re speaking as if this is a guarantee of what’s going to come. You’re hoping he’s a generational shooter and a perennial all defensive candidate. KPJ might not even be in the team in seasons to come and Sengun has a lot to prove in most areas of his game if he’s going to be our center of the future.
I’ve stated my criticisms in the thread and by no means am I using last night as metric of how good/bad he’s going to be. Growing pains happen just like they did with Jalen last year and we saw how much he flourished towards the end. I’ve said he’s the youngest and needs time, but I just want to see him grow as a ball handler and shot creator.
We need some type of Point Guard for Jabari in his early years...we just cannot depend on Sengun to be our Point Guard for the team. If you can convince Porter to play his natural position and let the Rockets find a natural Point Guard(Ben Simmons) then this could help us with more wins and the development of Jabari. I know Porter will have a tantrum but Jabari is more important to this Franchise than Porter.
For those of you who don’t think you need to be a ball handler to be an elite player, please list me the players who are currently elite and can’t make plays with the ball off the dribble.
KPJ isn't even bargain brand shorter Banchero. He's back alley dumpster in an abandoned mining town shorter Banchero.
There are different ways to create for themselves and others at an elite level. How did Hakeem create for himself and others?
The fact that you have to go back about 25 years, during a different brand of basketball says a lot. We are talking about the current NBA and current superstars.
