Love Silas as a great human being, but concerned at the lack of discipline already rearing its ugly face in the Summer League. Not talking about the selfish play on the court, but rather the fact that Garuba and Nix (who were supposed to be key backups this year) look like they spent most of their offseason at Golden Coral and not the gym working out. Most bubble players come in to SL in top physical shape for fear of how the head coach may react with their literal careers on the line, but par for course with this team. No discipline from the coach and no return respect from the players.
Players don’t fear Steve Kerr, Nick Nurse etc. This isn’t a pre req of winning a championship. Silas has coached Luka, Lebron, etc He’s the right guy for development.

Posting to repeat this. The head coach, Silas, does not coach summer league. Anyone blaming him for how their favorite young guy is performing is simply just scape goating.
I hate having such a corny coach. Also I don’t think he publicly reacted well to the KPJ-Wood incident last season. It really made the franchise look bad. I’ve seen media people refer to that incident when discussing the lack of culture and accountability on the Rockets and a reason they don’t take them seriously. There were low expectations since we were tanking but Silas still looked like he was at his wits end during that losing streak of 20-30 point blowouts. He looked he had no answer for it. And it reflected in his body language and post game press conferences. I would kill for a Taylor Jenkins (Grizzlies) or even Willy Green (Pelicans).
Exactly. If you want to actually make an NBA roster, start acting like an NBA player. Garuba and Nix are lazying their way to contracts in China. Also, who currently holds the ClutchFans record for most terrible threads started? Asking for a friend.
