Good luck! You're going to kill it!!! Just had round two with the Unicorn company, the VP told me he thinks I'm a perfect fit, already talking about management, which I am very careful about moving in to because it can really suck.
I just took a job. Starts in August. No interview required because I was "interning" within the company. I probably could have bargained for $5k more a year, but I'll be making around 3 times what I was making 8 years ago, so I can't complain.
I had to look it up, but my friend's Dad is in that field on the chemo/medical side. He makes quite good money. Also cool to see an internship actually land you a job. That doesn't happen nearly as often as it should.
I'm at the other end. I'm passively looking but not very motivated to go that extra mile. This whole covid situation starting to wear me down.
IDK what field you're in, but my Dad's in a similar boat. He's also on the wrong side of 60 and says it's getting harder to find jobs that will match his salary that don't involve crazy commutes. I know age discrimination is technically illegal, but it does make a lot more sense to hire someone 20 years younger and cheaper who you can keep around longer. Especially for a Controller position. Also, LinkedIn is a godsend, both as a former recruiter and candidate. I didn't really enter the white-collar workforce until it was big and I can't imagine applying for jobs without it. Hell, I can't even fathom what job hunting was like before the internet.
