I just saw the midnight screening at the drive-in theater here... *******SPOILER BELOW********* Overall a great sequel but this movie moved waaaaayyyy too fast. It almost seemed like they edited a half hour to an hour out of it. The action was good and I agree there were about 3 or 4 times I cringed during the movie as well. This movie also sets up Spider Man 3, which could probably be the last one in this series. Oh, and did anyone else notice that Kirsten Dunst didn't have a see-through dress in this movie?
Yeah, a Tech student built a new drive-in theater with 2 screens in Lubbock a few years ago. It has been very successful, a cool place to see a flick. They broadcast the audio on a Low Power FM station, so if you have a bunch of subs in your car you can get some booming audio. The theater was filled up tonight, they must of had at least 500 cars there if not more.
i'm trying not to read the spoilers. i will note that on the Spider-Man DVD...if you turn on the comments that go along with the movie...the very last comment said that Maguire and Dunst already signed on to do Spider-Man 2 and 3 upon the conclusion of filming the first movie. as the chronicle article points out this morning, Dr. Connors is introduced, which could mean the Lizard in the next movie. my son is rooting for that already! by the way...the Chronicle's review gives it an A+ and says this is easily the best movie of the summer.
I just saw it...Wow!...I Give it an "A" I won't spoil it for those that haven't seen it but there were so many highlights... J.J. Jameson especially adds to the film. I loved the humor, and the train fight scene with Doc Ock blew my high expectations...A 3rd seems to be on the way, and I feel (hope I'm not giving anything away) that it will probably be 2 villians - the Hobgoblin and the Lizard... The best superhero movie in my opinion to date...The first one was good, and they really cleaned up the CGI very well compared to that one...Look for quick shots of Stan Lee, and someone who resembles Moore, perhaps intentional since he found something in the trash can to exploit...More than anything the humor surpassed my expectations... Great, great movie...
I personally don't understand the fascination with Spider-Man. Yes, I grew up reading and watching Spidey. But, even still, I'm a freaking adult now and the appeal/interest is hardly there for me. I can easily wait for the DVD rental and watch it on the good old home theater with no regrets from waiting whatsoever. Is there anyone out there like me who just doesn't give a rat's arse one way or another? Spidey can kiss my ass.
I wouldn't go that far, but with all the CGI stuff available in movies now, it's possible to make anyone look like a bad @## on screen. I love a good superhero movie, but I think the original Spiderman was overhyped. I'm a Superman guy and I look forward to the next Superman movie in 2010 or whenever they decide to make it. Spiderman is OK, but I will not fight the crowds to see it.
Great movie......It was a more engaging story than the first one. It had some cheese but its a freakin' comic book superhero for Pete's sake. No Pun intended.
Roxran, you are absolutely sad. Bringing politics into a Spider-Man thread. You know damn well that bum was not supposed to represent Michael Moore.
Man, I loved the first one but this one just out and out sucked. I was soooo excited about seeing it and made it to the 11:00AM show. Anyway, the storyline was horrible, the dialogue was horrible, the movie dragged on, and the worst thing they did in movie was on the train. I dont want to say what it was for people that havent seen it yet but those who have seen it know what I am talking about. To me this was a colossal failure of a movie. With all the hype and expectations this ranks right up there with the new Star Wars movies. The whole thing just felt like a cheap movie. I have read alot of people saying it was a great storyline but I dont think the story was nearly as good as the first one. Once again, I loved and own the first movie on DVD. But I certainly wont be rushing out to see the third one. I will just wait for a rental first. God, what a letdown
I have heard a lot of rumors about who the projected villian/villians will be in Spiderman 3, but can anyone clear who has seen Spiderman 2 clear up a few of these rumors? I heard maybe Venom or the Lizard or the Goblin or HobGoblin. I'm not too familiar with Spiderman bad guys.
Well, they show Dr. Conners in this one, he's a one armed guy who becomes the Lizard when he tries to use Lizar DNA to regrow his lost arm. There's a good chance they could make him a villian in the next one. You see John Jameson in this one, he's an astronaut who becomes a Werewolf when he finds some strange crystal on the moon. I doubt they'll do that, he's not that famous. SPOILER******************* Harry Osborn, finds his father's Goblin lair, filled with pumpkin bombs, 2 gliders, the Goblin mask, and the super soldier serum that made Norman the Green Goblin. In the comics, Harry becomes the Green Goblin, some people are speculating that they might make him become the Hobgoblin (in the comics, i think he was just a two bit hood who found a Green Goblin lair and started using his equipment). So far though, this is the only real setup for the next villian.
