How were we able to complete the trade including Francis even though Stevie has a BYC that expires on July 1st? I thought he couldn't be moved until his BYC expired? Can someone please explain this?

(I'll go back to crying about losing Francis now...)

very simple -- cato's contract. I won't go into how or why since I probably wouldn't explain it correctly, but that's your answer.

If we waited until after July 1st, Steve's salary value in the trade would increase substantially. We would have to take a player like Mobley out of the deal or take on more contracts for the trade to happen.

Orlando would not agree to the former, and we would hate life if it were the latter.
