I'm reading this JGup & Kentucky point as sarcasm...Worst character wise ever? Yeah this news probably came right after he dropped them from his final schools (ultimately choosing ASU). You may know something I don't though, so pls share.
UK was going after Jalen and Josh around the same time. In the meantime, they got a commitment from Terrence Clarke (who passed away later in a car accident). Brandon Boston, Clarke, Green, and Josh were probably the best shooting/combo guards in that class. With Clarke's commitment, that meant they had Boston and Clarke already. They dropped their chase of Jalen and Josh about the same time - I believe right after the Clarke commitment.
Here’s the story: Green and Christopher were a package. Green decided to go to the GLeague because of the pandemic and Christopher wasn’t going to Kentucky without him. But guess what? We got the MF package! Kentucky is Blueface, man. Ain’t nobody listening to that **** anymore.
From what was said on LOR's in the latest episode, JGup has been in the gym all off-season with Rockets coaches.
Him dropping Kentucky was PR spin, Kentucky saw how he was treating members of his own family in front of them and were surprised by his behavior. It was a complete shock to them as this was a time when you would expect him to be on his best behavior, apparently he didnt care at all.
Silas doesn’t have a plan other than hoping Smith and Green naturally improve enough to save his job. His rotations are terrible. He doesn’t put his guys in position to maximize their talents. It took the man over a month to figure out the basic way to utilize Jabari. He still doesn’t maximize what Smith does.
Ouch…and also not wrong. Honestly I wouldn’t be shocked to see Silas end up back in Dallas as a head coach if this Kidd led team continues to underperform. Not that he would be a better coach there necessarily so much as it has the personnel he needs to coach apparently the only way he knows how to coach.
