I love having Jake Meyers back into the fold as the everyday CF. That position was a question mark at beginning of season but he just about has it locked down if he can keep it up. Also the Dubon acquisition has been stellar. I see why Giants fans were so high on him and bummed they had to trade him. What other pressing weaknesses does this team have?
Just listened to Chas's interview on 790. He seems slightly peeved having to go back and forth and not solidifying his spot. I think he may be itching to get traded at the deadline.
Oh yea, He def wants to be traded. This isn't the first time he's mentioned as such. Team believes in Jake Meyers, and so do the statistics.
Looking at the body language of Chaz, he is as good as gone. He doesn't look overly-excited when he hits a HR. I don't see him celebrate when his teammates do big stuff.
He had his chance to solidify his spot...He didn't. If the Astros can use him to get a Phi Maton-type like that did with Myles Straw (who is hitting .193, with 10 RBIs), good deal.
https://sportstalk790.iheart.com/al...s-with-alex-bregman-chas-mccormick-korey-lee/ Weird interview, sounds like he’s a little down on himself but self aware about how good the team is. Even brought up the trade deadline and not knowing what was going to happen, I hope we keep him as the 4th guy for one.
Have free tickets for tonight. Really good seats in my season tickets section 107. As always, please don't ask for them if you aren't planning on going. I could sell them myself. Trying to do a treat for someone here. 2 sets of 2. PM me and they are yours. First come first served. Will check my PM's and try to get rid of seats by 3:00pm. Electronic delivery obviously.
Agreed. Hopefully is used to grab a reliever similar to the Toro deal last year. I am not expecting Maton to be the Maton of the postseason. I personally want his replacement. Any reason why Abreu doesn't get more burn? He seems to have the stuff for high leverage situations.
His “chance” was platooning with Siri. We still don’t know what he brings as an everyday player. If he had been playing everyday for April, may, and june I think you would see a guy at 17 or 18 hr’s right now. He does k a lot and that doesn’t fit the Astros design but why were we platooning him with siri who was hitting .190 most of that time?
