    And its impossible to create wealth when politics influence and or establish local laws on Evictions, I just got out of a situation where a Tenant was 4-5 months behind, thankfully an eviction was not needed. The home was damaged significantly and after taxes and repairs, the 12 month lease was pretty much a wash. If that can happen in Houston imagine what some people are going through in Cali....

    Yeah, this is going to trigger tons of foreclosures in Cali.... Well, we are likely going to see tons of foreclosures here too but these laws are not helping an expected housing market crash...

    The other people getting screwed are the people who need a place to live and are able to pay rent

    they need to expedite evictions because you can’t have people freeload indefinitely, very bad for all parties

    This is another reason why people move states
    But I realize Tmac fans don’t get such things

    Absolutely, things have got to be fair for both sides but recently they have heavily favored tenants. Even in Houston pre pandemic, a landlord could evict without an attorney for roughly $350 for both Eviction and having tenant served. Then it be roughly 14 days before tenant got eviction, and sometimes court dates would be up to four weeks from eviction petition date. After ruling, a tenant can appeal their eviction and if they can cover a month's worth of rent they can move eviction over to county. That can take up to another month for a court date at county and theeeen a landlord can file a writ to have a police officer actually remove someone from a property. An eviction can take a month at minimum if it runs its legal course and up to 3 months max.

    Atleast its better than the folks in Cali... They are pretty much hopeless...

    my uncle and his wife, both nearing 70, sold their 3 BR house in SF to live in Seattle in be close to their adult children w family living there.

    to avoid paying a huge capital gain tax on the profit on the sale, even after $500K exemption, they had to buy a home and apartment in Seattle, as well as a second home in Vancouver BC

    I hope they catch these woke idiots and put them in jail, it's dangerous .
    It's not their property. And as in the video, most of these people have children, that's why they aren't cramming them into Ford Fiestas.
