Tillman's mistake was green lighting what his star and gm wanted? Should he have vetoed the deal? Wouldn't that be more directly getting involved in basketball decisions? You want a new owner to override his ops people and complain he's interfering by green lighting their decisions? Seems backwards to me... i agree he should have vetoed Morey but your logic is backwards....
Multiple max contracts + KPj contract + Rookie max/Green Alpi extension JGup extension + Rookie max/Bari Eason extension That’s alotta fish & ‘chips’!
im happy he understood that after he blew up the team, the best course of action was to rebuild through the draft. I still can’t be okay with his pension for dumping 1st round picks to get under the luxury tax when we were still contending. But he’s certainly saying the right things and by all accounts, letting Stone do his job (other than installing his son, who has no basketball background, in some sort of weird decision-making role).
I’ll give tilman his props when he can use his shadier connections to actually have the refs work in our favor for once
I'm curious for all the people who are so ready to praise Stone and Fertitta for being the worst team in the league for two years in a row, how many more years of this would it take before you change your mind? What if the rockets are back in the lottery this year, will you still think they're great? Three years in a row with the worst record? How about the year after that, or the following two years, still in the lottery? Will Stone/Fertitta still be great? I just have a hard time saying they're doing a good job until they make it out of the lottery. It's easy to be horrible, anyone can do it, it doesn't deserve praise until you can climb out of the tank and become a successful team. I'm not saying they won't do it, but I'll give them their flowers when the Rockets win some games.
If Jim Crane had bought the Rockets in 2017 we would have a championship, maybe 2. Don't dare compare this cheap Galveston trash to the GOAT.
Tilman Fertitta practice facility resembles 24 Hour Fitness in the hood / Oshmans on i10. maybe he does this cuz the players are use to growing up in rough practice facilities? (besides KMJ) seriously needs to build his yacht into the practice facility.
Considering that Russell Westbrook as a basketball player goes against everything Daryl Morey has ever stood for as a GM, I find it hard to believe that Morey ran to the phone to dial up Presti and offer the package that was offered without SERIOUS pressure from a combination of James, Tilman, and Patrick. (Likely all 3)
imagine going full speed to block a corner three and your head goes into the wall that’s 3 inches behind the shooters feet.
Lmao Patrick on his alt accounts. They didn’t tank. They just put together a terrible team two years in a row. This will be the first season where the org is intentionally putting together a team to lose as many games as possible.
Wasn’t he behind the disastrous Westbrook deal? So no applause here, although he’s done well to stay out of the way the last few years.
