The first official "the McGrady trade sucks" thread

Can we cool it on the personal shots? So he's counter culture. So he's as positive about team moves as Scrooge was about holidays. It's an opinion. Argue with him on merits, which in this case should be pretty damn easy, or ignore him. I don't see the value in mocking the poster because you disagree with the post, so long as he himself isn't being personal or insulting. Maybe he's just seeking attention, maybe he's just a wet blanket, or maybe he has a different ( albeit insane ) perspective.


Sorry for the rant, but what's good for the goose, etc. Just because it's not a popular stance doesn't mean we should abandon our usual decorum, and IMO, that's treating each other with respect, if not affection, and dealing with the posts, not the poster.

I just see this thread as a "A-train must be grumpy" post.

Should just lock this thread. It's just making A-Train look worse. WTF is wrong w/ him? Let's just see how the season goes and how Yao and TMac jells.

 

He missed 15 games last year. If I'm not mistaken, these were games that he would have played in if the team had anything on the line, which they didn't. Heck, why don't we just bench him. That way he won't get hurt.

By your logic, I don't think I'm ever going to drive my car anywhere again. I mean, I might get into an accident and that scares me.

A Train you are missing the boat! The Rockets didnt get TMcG to replace Francis! They are still to find Francises replacement and hopefully it will be a pass first point guard. Both YM and TMcG will be dependent upon this point guard to pass them the ball.

 

I have my doubts about all of this as well.

I gave this thread the 4 star treatment 'cause it basically says some of the things we all kinda worry about but don't want to vocalize.

Tracy McGrady is NOT the end-all, be-all of the NBA. He has some amazing talent but he also has his faults. With Stevie (et al) we knew what we were getting. T-Mac is new and we all have high hopes. But they're still hopes.

Hell, we all thought Snotty Quitten would bring us back to the promised land, but look how far THAT got us. I hope T-Mac is the perfect fit in Houston, but time will tell ...

 

I wouldn't say this trade sux but I've got some concerns.

The one thing that you couldn't question about Francis was his effort. He played hard and practiced hard. The first thing that most people question about T-Mac is his effort. How will this fit with a demanding coach like JVG?

Also how well is the leagues best offensive talent going to mesh with one of the leagues worst offensive coaches? I could easily imagine mid-season friction as T-Mac numbers decline and he chafes under JVG's slow down ball control offense.
