nah, even if we didn't hold their picks it would be pretty easy to root against them just because of joe tsai and how much of a toolbag he is, like when he was trying to lecture morey on our freedom of speech and sympathizing with china.
Maybe I'm crazy but I don't see KD netting a great return esp with the Wolves blowing their load for Gobert. Like Miami is in play since when did Miami get ripped off in trades? Miami is the one that rips people off not the other way around. Suns can offer Ayton but I don't see how that's gonna give Nets a major upgrade when they have Nic Claxton. Memphis can trade everyone except Ja Morant but none of those players can carry a team. Maybe Nets will make the difference with future picks but I can't see their roster getting back players that can replace KD.
And Durant wouldn’t want to go there if they did send out KAT or Ant. Phoenix makes the most sense as Durant, Paul, and Booker are chip level and Ayton, Bridges and picks is a reasonable return. I’m sure the Suns are hell bent on not giving up Bridges and some complicated three team scenarios are being discussed.
Basically do exactly what we did after losing all of our picks for Westbrook. I assume the Wolves won't far behind as well.
The brutal thing about the Harden trade for them is that they mortgaged half a decade of their future to get a guy who bolted less than 2 seasons.
Hard to believe that Brooklyn passed on that Twolves package they sent out for Gobert, it seemed tailor made for flexibility to fit short and long term competitive goals. I'm struggling to see what team is left that can provide something better without crippling themselves in return. Are there any GMs left that believe KD = LeBron in delivering a championship?
I don't think it will be the Suns or heat that gets KD. They just don't have enough to offer or require a 3rd team. I'm betting it's either KD stays in Brooklyn or is traded to New Orleans or Toronto for packages around Ingram or Barnes.
Crazy how Toronto went from a franchise no one wanted to play for to being a conaistently competitive team big name players are interested in
Are big name players interested? Leonard was traded there and left as soon as he could. No reports suggest Toronto is on Durant's "list." To me, it's more that they've become very good at compiling assets, which puts them in play whenever a big name is available for trade. Which is pretty good work.
KD is open to Toronto. Frankly, besides the weather, its a fantastic city. Id much rather live and work there than a place like Indiana, Charlotte, Memphis, Oklahoma City etc. It reminds me a lot of New York too. Id move there if it wasnt so expensive
