Its even more crazy that there is an NBA general manager out there who believes Gobert is the difference on a championship team. No one is scared to go small against him cuz he's a nothing on offense. He can't punish the small lineups and he can't stay with them on the perimeter. What is happening in Minnesota?

Time for Bev to help make Houston a playoff team, a great vet to instill a defensive-minded culture, can help develop all of our guards on D, he's a good 3PT shooter, good rebounder, and underrated passer. He was wonderful to the city his time in Houston, a fan favorite, put the hater juice away.

Bring heem home. Nwaba + Mavs fillers and 2nds

I didn't watch it, I've seen it every year. Every time they played the Rockets and Harden dropped 50 on his head. You asked for an example so I just put the first thing I found. He's issue is he leaves the corner three pointer wide open to guard the paint. And it kills the Jazz in the playoffs.

This entire video is essentially a lowlight of what happens when Gobert has to account for a perimeter player. Dude just can't go outside the paint...and when he does, he's incredibly uncomfortable.

And this is some dude named Mann. Not Curry, Durant, Beal, Thompson, Harden or any other high-profile offensive player.

Towns' overall defense is trash. Gobert's perimeter defense is trash. And all your money is tied up in those two players.

bingo. And to think, they were actually trending up after years of just sucking before Edwards arrived and finally learning how to actually win a little by getting a taste of the playoffs. Now they punt their future and any assets to help improve the roster along with all the money tied up in 2 frontcourt players

He isn't making Houston a playoff team. His impact is all dependent on whether he has stars next to him. Lets not act like hes the sole reason teams hes on are in the playoffs. funny how he continues to just get dumped by teams also. stop it

Tweeting out time to take another team to the playoffs. lmfao. Utah has been a playoff team for years without the play in champ and crybaby

Nobody said that except you, so stop yourself lol

He brings a winning mindset and passion to the locker room. He won't get us in the playoffs, but he can help us build a culture, help our young guards develop defensively, and that leads us there in the next few years.

How about the rockets actually build a relevant team first and establish that. Pretty sure that's step 1 before bringing in the mindset and passion

Minnesota isn’t the Jazz, who quite possibly have the worst 4 defensive player besides gobert in the league: conley’s legs have been shot for years, Mitchel is terrible and does not want to play defense, Bogdanovich, is bad, Joe ingels, the list goes on and on.

the twolves will play defense and are much younger and better than the jazz.

Establish a relevant team before bringing in vets to help develop us into a relevant team?

    I don't get it.

    that's not hard to get.

what in the world does bringing in vets do when you don't even have a relevant team to help with this "mindset and passion*

Are we watching the same league breh?

Every team brings in vets around the young guys when rebuilding, for the sole purpose of helping develop the young guys and installing a winning culture.

How did that work out with Theis. Cf's wanted to use that same logic with him. how's it working with EG.

You're moving the goalposts while not addressing the actual issue. You wanted proof of Gobert being exposed? It's in the video, courtesy of Mann on like, every possession.

Gobert was the primary defender on Mann, on most of those possessions. And his effort resulted in a half-hearted only-arm-up defensive stance, because he was either not comfortable with perimeter defense or because he was scared that Mann would drive on him, leaving him flat-footed. Has nothing to do with the rest of Utah's defense.

Minny better pray that an Edwards-Gobert-KAT trio is enough to do anything. Because if it isn't, Edwards will walk and/or Minny won't have the breathing room to retool around its young star and/or Minny won't have enough draft picks for relief.

Seems like it went fine to me.

Our young had nice development over the year, EG and Theis were great lockerroom vets by all accounts. The problem with Theis was really Wood, if we would have moved Wood before the year and had a Sengun/Theis rotation at C we would have been gravy. Theis wasn't ball hogging, he wasn't slacking on D, and he wasn't causing locker room issues.

As this is more of a win-now move than a "wait to contend in 3 years" move, I don't get why Minny didn't use those draft picks in trades for more depth or for KD.

Test the waters with either Kevon Looney or Mitchell Robinson or Andre Drummond or Javale McGee. And deal for wing depth like Gallinari, GPII, etc.

Hell, Walker Kessler might turn out to be the next Rudy Gobert. You never know.

that C rotation is gravy? laughable nonsense. Theis sucks, especially on a non playoff team
