At some point Seth seems to get to "How can I piss off more people" than "how can I entertain more people" He seems to get off on pissing people off more than entertaining After a while. .. it just gets annoying Rocket River
I'm still only on episode 5 so am avoiding reading the rest of this thread. So far this season has been great. I've really loved how the last two season have played with the cultural and political mileau of current America with issues of Populism and Demogoguery. Often in shows and movies when people address issues like this they do it too bluntly but I think The Boys has done it well even though the premise of the show is so unrealistic.
Caught up on Season 3. Unfortunately being sick over 4th of July weekend not much to do but watch TV. The Herogasm episode really delivered. At first I was feeling was all of this necessary just for shock and titilation value but once the plot started really going I think it all worked out and even forgot about shock value. One of reasons why I stopped watching "Diabolical" was that while they were cartoons all they seemed to me was just about violence for shock value with nothing else. The Boys this season has often seemed to just be doing stuff for shock value especially in the first episode. I was worried that the Herogasm episode would be that but the buildup to it's finale and the plot exposition in it worked. By the end of the episode all the other stuff going on didn't stick in my mind as much.
This season isn't doing it for me. Not sure why, but I'm struggling to get through an entire episode in one sitting.
that's because they doing too much pp and male buttholes. need moar vagene closeups. they better show maeve's vagene in the finally before homelander kills her off. not into skinny starlight, but she'll do too.
I'm feeling the same. Although I'm just three episodes in. I love stuff like this but I need a beginning, middle and end. In other words, I need a story; not just a supe of the week kind of deal where nothing ever gets resolved.
Last ep was pretty good in the sense that the shock value didn't get in the way of the story. I think what might be the problem is that they're doubling down on the depravity of everyone in the show. Might be too on the nose with the feeling that everything is falling apart. This. You hear that Seth Rogan? No one wanted to see how you turned yourself into a perverted old raisin during covid. We all like to assume you're still that fat funny stoner from the movies.
tbh seth’s fap acting was prolly top 3 worst. my sleeping fap (scientifically called wet dream) is more believable than that. also have i mentioned maeve’s vagene? we need to see maeve’s vagene.
if any show can do it, the boys can. too bad starlight sometimes look like she helen paige mid transition.
She's so emaciated it's distracting. Another one falls into the Hollywood body dysmorphia trap and bites the dust.
Spoiler hashtag HomeBoy #Homeboy Still enjoying it. The gratuituous sex is now meh at this point yet the Gratuitous violence isn't weird "You got problems, Quill." - Rocket Raccoon Rocket River
You know Rogan is neither a writer or showrunner for this, yeah? You want to blame someone, blame them. Yes, he's an exec producer, along with 8 other people, 17 producers and 9 associate producers.
Seth has little to do with what ends up on screen for this show. I hope Soldier Boy makes it to the next season.
