Gordon for Matisse Thybulle and a future first. That gets him one player closer. Now if he could just pry away Capela from the Hawks.
I thought it we were supposed 2 trust Morey lol. Stone must've been the brains behind the business all along
I think it's a loyalty move for Tuck and sweetener for Harden to make things work cap wise. Not sure how many miles left on those tires, but he's likely gonna be an Horry like specialist
I think you're right with the Tucker and Harden thing. There's a loooot of people here who don't really understand PJ Tucker's value. They didn't when he was a Rocket, and still to this day don't. Championship contenders do though. Really no coincidence where his team has finished the past two years.

It was always a weakness of DM to get tunnel vision on specific players in his zeal to prove his extra-special GM prowess. Once someone is a Daryl Darling, they stay at that way until they prove the rest of the league wrong and become another feather in his cap at the MIT conference or whatever. He cannot accept that the penetration of basketball analytics also extends to GMs. Once you have incorporated the essential principles and built an organization, the GM is another asset, not a personality cult. Witness Stone. Clearly dude relies on organizational strengths begun under DM. Analytics-driven scouting and plain good luck have made the last two drafts stellar. His trade touch and timing could use work (Gordon???), but he’s a great relationships guy. All good but honestly not irreplaceable as long as the franchise infrastructure remains.
He didn't get the hype of Shane Battier but they both anchor defenses in their own ways. Dude had the size and physicality to cover 3-4 positions in a pinch and I think he might be a welcome surprise for Embiid for at least this next season.
