    This is a fair and moveable contract. Good deal for both sides. Glad Tate will stay a rocket; he has the heart of a champion.

    I’m a little surprised. Thought he could fetch more than that on the market. Maybe not? Or he just really likes it here. I love his tenacity - coming off the bench. Need more pop offensively from that wing spot.

    He most likely gets a bigger deal after next season but he takes the discount because the Rockets bought out his extremely cheap option and he gets guaranteed 8 figures. Not bad all around but most important, moveable if the shot still isn’t any good.

    I have a hard time seeing playing time for Tate going forward, with all this young guys and pending free agency.

    I was advocating trading for a future pick, but this is fine, it doesn't hurt you.

    Yeah I have no problem with Tate starting in the beginning of the season, until Eason is ready. You don’t just throw all the rookies in the jungle altogether. Bring them along nicely.
