Jonathan Feigen: Rockets turn attention to centers in free agency

I haven't heard anything about him this off season really.

Porter is liked by a lot of his teammates, but he is moody and too often a distraction.

They will likely see how it goes this year.

He needs to learn better self control.

Are the Rockets worried about him throwing fits? I am sure they are aware that it could happen... it has happen every year since he was in high school.

 

Well.... I guess this comes down to whether you think Orlando's front office knows what they are doing.

Sengun is practicing for indoor basketball like he’s 11 years old at his parents. Have you seen the ceiling size of his gym? 8 feet ceiling, 7”9 foot goal.

Mo Bamba is just the type of gamble this current Rockets should take. Do we need to get into a bidding war over it? Absolutely not, but if we can get him for NT-MLE (~$10.3M) at 3 years (2+ last year team option) then we should do it.

If he can be an average defender while spacing the floor, then it just makes Jalen Green's and our cutters' life that much easier.

 

You can do worse than Mo Bamba off the bench for 10 or 15 minutes a game.

No I haven't heard any concern about him being a distraction.

If he shows up I think he will be fine, he isn't really brought up much when they discuss problems.

Which is weird. Banchero / Bamba makes more sense than Banchero / Hartenstein on face. Meanwhile, Hartenstein and Jabari would have been more complementary.

 

Rather have Hartenstein. Bamba BBIQ is low.
