Just saw ESPN'S report on Phil Jackson's future. Phil Jackson as the new Houston Rockets Coach has been discussed in this forum numerous of times. But with the addition of Tracy Mcgrady now being official should the Rockets pursue Jackson as the head coach? Why or Why not?
No thank you. I'm looking at ESPN Classic and they are talking about the '91 series between the Bulls and Lakers. I'm looking at Phil then and Phil now and it's obvious that he is burned out from basketball and his heart isn't fully in it anymore. He is lazy and complacent now. It could be that he was tired of stopping the cat fight between Kobe and Shaq, but I really don't think he is the answer. Age, fire, desire are all against Phil at this point.
A chance to surround these two with a championship-caliber head coach? I'd do it in a New York minute. Yao and the "Zen Master" would probably get along very well, and it has already been established the triangle with a quality big man is a good combination.
