It gets a disgruntled vet off of our team, and opens up a roster spot.

He could’ve gotten real loud publicly last year but he kept it professional and gave the rockets a year to squeeze out some value

Wall was a straight baller before injuries

Opens up a roster spot and saves the Rockets $7 million in salary cap space. We're still on the hook for the other $40 million this season, he is now on waivers and will be a free agent once he clears.

Man, it's like if the NBA had an All-NBA team for most injury prone players the Clippers are trying to collect them all. Go get Kyrie too, Clips!

I respect him and I truly wish him well. He didn't take Harden's BS!

So Rockets are allowed to use that extra $7 million on potential free agents this off-season right? I'll take that

This was inevitable but Stone has been really damn good across the board. This team will have loads of capspace (not that they will use it yet) next year, at least one young superstar, possibly two along with great picks in upcoming drafts.

I’m beyond stoked with what Stone and the org are building for the future. LFG!

    Not really.

We are operating over the cap, so it just means we are less far over the cap.
More breathing space to the tax line - which would have been hard to hit anyway

Nope. We will still operate over the cap. We have the $10m non-taxpayer exception we can use though.

Let's see what TF spends when it's winning time.

Like with Crane, I have no problem saving a buck while tanking... he just needs to spend when extensions come...

Crane has been tight at times but generally spends enough...

The buyout is great for many reasons, including roster construction, flexibility, salary reasons, etc.

But the biggest and likely most important reason- maintaining positive relationships through out the league- including Klutch Sports agency.

W for the Rockets, Tilman, and Stone
