I feel like that’s a bad look for the organization which Stone seems to be trying to change after Morey put a bad taste in the leagues mouth for treating most players like assets and nothing more. It’s not Walls fault Harden left him within weeks to waste away here

Wall has been super cool about the whole thing too. Most players his level would have been going to WAR with the franchise at this point to be traded or bought out. Wall gave us last year to find compensation and I think it might get ugly if we try to sit him again for a year

Yeah I wish Wall would mentor these kids also but he doesn’t seem to give two ****s. I thought the rumor was John put some of the kids in a bad situation and the organization separated him from the team the remainder of the year because of it

I think that's fair. The only other thing is it allows us the capability to take back two players for Gordon. But yeah. I do tend to agree with you that it doesn't matter all that much otherwise.

But I do suspect Wall would like to play somewhere. He needs to get another contract. Would be kind of messed up to deprive him of playing for two seasons in a row if he's open to working out a buyout.

He was instrumental in landing Jabari as well by his very adequate inadequacy last year.

I don't think he wants to do that, unfortunately.
The awkwardness of him being around the youngsters will disappear. I agree we can't afford another bad contract, or another project.

Wall with a motivated Harden could have panned out ok. Harden had Wall and Wood, but Harden bolted without Morey on board. Because Morey did whatever Harden wanted.

It wasn’t Walls fault that Harden basically flipped him off like we used to do on astroworld grease lightning roller coaster flip offs.

I think Wall did what he did, and take the money he’d been granted per his last contract.

It’s just a wonder the league didn’t fine Houston for tanking, and keeping Wall in the roster while he just collected dust.

I frankly don’t care if they buy him off for 100% of the contract, but let the man go play on a team that could use him.

I’d rather the Rockets use that roster space on someone that has value to the team, beyond a salary dump match.

Have you been watching Harden lately? Dude couldn’t even do it with Maxey, Tobias and Embiid…he’s washed.

I think your misrepresenting the situation. We wouldn't be treating him like an asset. But as a declining player on an expiring contract

I’ll never forget watching him snatch defeat from the jaws of victory in that T wolves game where we up 19 in the 4th. Incredible tank job.

I think that prime harden would have done well with Wall and Wood; though I doubt they get out of the western conference. Heck, And the Nets the first year had prime Harden on board, he was in the conversation for MVP.

But the injuries pulling on, and the whole beef he had with Irving was too much for Harden’s ability to deal with that type of adversity. Harden was used to speaking, and his dog Morey doing his bidding.

Biggest Problem for Harden is he quit on the Nets like he quit on the Rockets. Somehow, as folks get older it becomes more apparent you can’t just flip a switch and turn it back on. I concur in the playoffs with the ‘76’ers, he looked old and a shell of his former self.

But I expect Harden to bounce back this year, he’s that talented. But he’s exactly where he wants to be, let’s see if that makes a difference.

He's like that itch you can't reach. Can't wait til' he's off the team.

I can see Wall agreeing to a buyout where he receives between 50-75% of his salary (~$46 million). I say 50% because it's in his best interest to land on a team that can give him a good, sizable role where he can try to get a long term deal next summer. Either way, it'd be nice for both Wall and Houston to move on from this failed relationship.

what number would that be for Gordon? I’d keep him for a certain number we need some sort of vet presence.

    According to
    https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/g/gordoer01.html

For the 22-23 season (year 34 season), Gordon will make
    $19,568,360

For the 23-24 season (year 35 season) which is not guaranteed, Gordon will make
    $20,917,90

Last season (21-22, year 33), Gordon play in 57 games at 29 minutes per. The bigger question is ... how many minutes do we need to given Gordon going forward?

Next season is only guaranteed if he wins a championship this season.

15 minutes a night maybe on 8 mil 1 year team option for second
