Just a thought i know others have had... With Tyty in the mix now, what about KPJ as a catch and shoot 3 or cutter? I think have a 3 and 4 who are elite catch and shoot can open up the offense a lot for Green's drives and Sengun to work in the paint. I can also see Sengun finding KPJ on a cut to the basket pretty easily... Just a thought... he's not much different in size from Gordon who we've run out there...
My god people.. can we just wait and see if the 29th overall pick is even good enough to be a rotational piece? Y’all trying to pencil him in as a starter is absolutely ridiculous. KPJ, Green, Jabari, and Sengun are the only guaranteed starters.
Titty isn't quite "in the mix", this season he'll likely spend most of it down in RGV. He'll need to prove he belongs on an NBA team at all before even earning a bench role. Talking about him as a starter is laugh out loud hilarious. Eason isn't even likely to get a starting job and he has a LOT less in front of him at the 3 and he's a MUCH better prospect than Titty.
Maybe He was literally one of the best catch and shoot players in the league last year, he needs WAY more off-ball looks. He also has size at 6'4, 210 with a 6'9 wingspan. Smith being 6'10 220 at PF could allow us to have a smaller SF. I don't know about TyTy or Nix being worthy PG's, but maybe? Maybe Sengun is the guy, or a FA could also step into that space. We could also operate like the Celtics just not have a true PG on the floor. I would really like to sign Satoransky. 6'7 210, good lockerroom vet, has real PG skills, will sign for vet minimum, wouldn't have a problem with taking a small role and not playing every night probably.
With the Rockets pushing towards positionless basketball, everyone will play the 3 at some point. I can see Silas and Stone's master plan and I likey.
WTF is wrong with you people TyTY is not our starting PG we don't even know if he good and on top of that if we end up losing again this year TyTY will be on the beach for scoot or you trade his ass because in no way is Scoot on the bench for the 29th pick.
@Landry's Tooth you mentioned much the same reasoning I had for moving Porter to the 3 while drafting Ivey; but Ivey had an elite first step and uber athletic. TyTy is a cheap knock-off that plays beneath the rim and lacks the explosiveness. No need to rush him into the rotation. -------------------- Note his weaknesses stated in this article (which I agree with): https://www.lineups.com/articles/ty...tats-nba-draft-ranking-highlights-comparison/ [ Weaknesses: Washington seldom knifed his way to the rim because he lacks elite burst and strength. Bigger defenders were able to deter him from finding space to attack the basket. He was efficient in the paint, but it’s worrisome that college defenders were stone-walling him considering NBA defenders are far more advanced. This lack of paint activity also diminished his free throw attempts. Washington’s non-elite burst also reduces the impact of his first step, and I don’t see him as a dangerous isolation scorer. He is lethal coming off of a pick, but his ceiling as a shot creator with no help losing his defender is capped. He cannot defensively switch onto forwards and centers as he doesn’t have the size or strength to survive. Washington will be fine defending opposing guards, but I worry bigger ball handlers will hunt him. ] So TyTy will be good in: Silas PnR Mid Range - floaters Improve his 3-ball (in time) but shot selection and defensive weaknesses vs 3, 4 & 5 will need to improve.
KPJ will be an ideal 6th man one day. TyTy has a lot of potential, as does Nix if he's dedicated to his conditioning. Either could be starting point in a year or two.
