Ya this has been a new yet recurring problem for him this season. What gives? It seems like he’s routinely airmailing throws to first.
Real talk... the dejection of Game 1 was worth the triumph of Game 3 I still accept a split Go Stros !!!
After pitching 3 of the last 4 days, I think Pressly,Neris and Montero should all have the day off, or at least not used until all the other relievers have pitched. On top of the rest, there's no need to give them another look at our leverage guys. We've already made our statement.
I know he just had a stinker but didn't he just get a day off before a scheduled day off like a week ago. I don't know why Dusty feels the need to sit him again in the same week.
I'm OK keeping Matijevic, but I don't really understand it unless he's gonna get semi regular starts. Would rather have seen him get the start over Dubon today if Yordan is sitting
Nestor is pitching. Even after he hit the big home run, Dusty still benched JJ for Yuli to face the righty later in the game. I bet we have a platoon situation at 1B, with JJ getting additional at bats by occasionally starting in LF for Brantley.
MLB has their own system that is similar, but gives up the width of the baseball as a fudge factor. Overall, I think these public ones will cause MLB to go to an automated zone in 2024. It would be a very bad look for MLB if a tight postseason series is decided by the umps and easily shown on twitter.
Wow Dusty just sat our best hitter when we have a chance to win the series against the yankees, in new york. thanks Dusty
Ridiculous. Makes no sense at all. It’s the Yankees with that ridiculous short porch in right. Dusty gonna Dusty.
Agreed. The fact that every broadcast now has the built-in zone on the screen at all times, and MLB hasn't really dissuaded anybody from doing so, emphasizes that they want the fans to know in real time whether or not the umps get the calls right. I'm actually surprised they included the egregious missed strike calls from yesterday's 8th inning in the MLB.TV condensed game. The days of MLB no longer wanting to have umpiring mistakes pointed out obviously went away when replay reviews started, but its continued to progress and there's just too much momentum to not eventually have an automated zone at some point.
