We need to look at upgrading CF. What would it take for a shot at Juan Soto? Doubt nationals would entertain anything but a phone call is free.
Lol Here we go again Have just as good of a chance to trade for Ramirez and move Bregman to 1B, and Ramirez is having a better year Also could trade for McClanahan to add another ace Then move prospects for Hader to finalize the pen Get er done clickster
Jones was doing better than Jake just a few days ago. Then it clicked for Jake. The reason for the rehab stint is to get timing back and verify health. It looks like Jake may be ready. I like Taylor but J.J. may have over taken him and he needs more time in AAA. I expect him to be put back on 40 man and optioned and Thomas or Goodrum to be DFA'd to make room. He is still a solid RH power bat option that can play 1B/LF and possibly 3B/RF. Good to have especially with Yuli struggling. He was really starting to figure it out at the MLB level before the injury/illness last season
Yup... and both Meyers and Jones were on the 60 day IL so 2 40 man roster spots are needed. I would get rid of Bermudez. He got shelled again and his ERA is north of 8. Not sure another team picks him up.
Try to go after one of these guys… rent Andrew Benintendi, LF, Royals. Can he play center? Rent catcher Willson Contreras from Cubs Rent Josh Bell, 1B, Nationals
I am not against DFAing Bermudez but he is a LHP who was our pitcher of the year last season. Someone will pick him up. Not sure how much of a loss it would be though. Maybe a Tyler White for Andre Scrubb type trade with a team who isn't competing and can afford the 40 man
Benintendi isn’t playing CF for us, our FO values defense way too much for that Wouldn’t be opposed to adding him if the price is as right though Would love Contreras, again, if the price is right. So hard to gauge what prices will be this year Bell is the perfect fit, need wise
Bregman looks to be coming around. 7-16 5r 4rbi 2hr 4bb/3k the past 5 games. Let's hope it's his new normal Brantley has been on fire in June and hitting both left and right handed pitching. .999 OPS in June. That is 1-5 hitters significantly above league average. If that keeps up getting a bat to slide into the #6 spot is easier and better than finding a bat to hit 3rd or 4th.
Looking back at Click's trades from last year: Myles Straw has regressed to a 65 OPS+ this year in Cleveland, while Phil Maton has been mixed (mediocre in the regular season, postseason titan), Diaz looks like the Catcher/First Baseman of the future. The Yimi Garcia trade didn't amount to much on either side. With De La Cruz posting 0.0 WAR this season with a 65 OPS+ in Miami, and Pruitt accomplishing little in Oakland. Then again, Garcia was a rental who didn't light up the zone either. The Kendall Graveman trade has turned into the Rafael Montero trade, Joe Smith's contract expired along with Graveman's, and Toro so far has posted -0.3 WAR with a 53 OPS+. Click really is turning Houston into Tampa Bay with a budget.
Try and trade for David Bednar. Use him as a pure one-inning closer (Pirates use him for longer outings which sometimes reduce effectiveness, do not overuse him here). Stanek and Montero set up. Cannot blow leads like this.
My ultimate trade would be Josh Bell, Tanner Rainey and Victor Robles. I think this trade alone fixes everything we need fixxed and would also make this team a heck of a Power threat at 3 4 5 and 6 Bell behind Tucker would help protect alot. Robles is a good player and may just need a new scene. Rainey is a great BP arm
I think Robles in this system would end up way better then he currently is. For some reason I think he just is in a slump and with an organization that is on the down
With a little over a month until the deadline, there’s still time for some teams to turn it around- but the White Sox have the same record as the rangers and are getting their butts kicked by the Orioles. I’d at least make a phone call and check in on Jose Abreu
i'm Tired of the old people lets get some one that can atleast play alittle while longer then maybe 2yrs
