This is what becomes of packing the Court. Who needs the Congress or Presidency when you can just have the SCOTUS pass whatever laws you want?

Case law rather than statutory law doesn’t change it”s effectiveness.

The red states already sucking up all the welfare tax dollars and not expanding Medicaid are just going to exacerbate their problems with these unwanted pregnancies.

SCOTUS is just saying what the second amendment says. Having SCOTUS pass laws is what yall want to happen.

I meant to post this in the Roe Vs Wade thread. Having SCOTUS packed by conservative judges to purposefully overturn a decision that the majority of the country agree with is not what we want.

If the majority agree with it, pass the law the way the constitution wants. Vote in a government that works for you.

Putting these decisions off the supreme court is what all politicians want. No responsibility, no accountability. The constitution is not a living document in that it's meaning changes with polling numbers. It's living because you can amend it.

Can’t land votes in this country not people. Put it to a pure Democratic vote and an abortion ban would never happen.

One example I recall when I lived in Abq.

They should also be allowed to vote. Halfway citizenship crap is why we have so much recidivism. 76%, one of the highest in the world.

Another example of politicians outsourcing their jobs and responsibilities. Instead of pretending the constitution says what the polling wants it to say, vote in a government that makes the laws and adjustments you want.

Grunching this thread because I'm not ready yet to read the misinterpretation from the left and the right. Just wanted to say hi, and that nothing in this decision was unexpected, particularly on the merits. It's putting 7 states on the same level as the other 43. As for the firey Thomas rhetoric - that means nothing for future cases. His test using ambiguous history (he's literally picking and choosing historical analogies and saying not all of them count, lol) is just as murky as the balancing tests the last 14 years. Any challenge in the near future will be Roberts-Kav-Kag-Sot and I'm guessing Jackson on one side against Thomas-Alito-Gorsuch. Thomas and Alito because they're shills and Gorsuch because he's old school "we all need guns to overthrow the government if need, like it's meant for in the Constitution." ACB will switch back and forth depending on the specific challenge.

If they serve their time and paid restitution I think yes. Same goes with the right to vote.
