That's the fantasy spin. In terms of complimenting the team and winning games, I think Howard will fit the bill.

tinman is totally obsessed with the role players from the champ years. If he had his way Max, Kenny, Bob and Carl'd be starting for us next year.

This is the worse kind of logic to warrant trading a player. Just look at the organizations that Howard has been with and then compare those to the one's Horry has had the honor to be with. I'm sure Juwan Howard is the one to blame for incompetent management in Washington, Denver, and Orlando. The only fault Juwan has is that he was unable to live up to the hype that followed him out of college. Oh, and he did play for Dallas, and was quite serviceable to them. Give me a break tinman

Yep, no one mind tinman. Ever since he snapped with his bring back Vernon Maxwell thread. His poor mind has been stuck in the mid nighties. Hopefully he'll realize he needs help, and get some treatment. Who knows, T-mac and Yao just might be the prescription. Or maybe his mind is just too far gone. We can only hope tinman regains his sanity as soon as possible :(

    In the meantime, however.
Just read on through his threads, and don't make eye contact.
    Should be fine.
    :)

I thought the same thing, but after looking at their stats per 48 minutes, and say what you will about stats, if Howard is a better rebounder than Taylor, it's by a very small margin. So we've basically got about as close the same player as you can get. If we were going to keep one, I'd rather it be Taylor, cuz for whatever reason I think we'd get more in a trade for Howard.

I was going to mention this as well. Juwan Howard was very effective when he was in a winning situation in Dallas. I think he will be a pleasant surprise when playing on this team. As far as Im concerned, the Rockets should be a better offensive team than last season as they will have three very consistent offensive options in Yao, T-Mac and Howard. T-Mac and Howard combined should put up much better offensive numbers on a consistent basis than Francis and Mobley did last season. Add to that Yao quite possibly becoming a consistent 20 plus PPG scorer next season and this team should improve drastically.

what are YOU talking about... Horry started missing 3's when he was playing for the Lakers - he couldn't hit the big shots and they lost to SA TWO YEARS AGO

look - you do NOT want to get me in a battle over fantasy basketball - fantasy value does NOT equal real value - let me put it to you this way... Tayshun Prince was a fantasy bust last year, but he was instrumental in the Pistons championship.... on the other hand Stephen Jackson was a top 25 player... but the Hawks are the worst team in the league

hollow stats are hollow stats - Howard is better player and HORRY was useless last year... USELESS !!!

PS - don't try to upstage me in pictures either... !

I really think we are going to keep howard and either get rid of Mo in the off season or sometime during the middle of the season just becuase of his contract.

I doubt anyone takes on Mo's contract, and I have more faith that Mo's best bball days are ahead of him than J Howard. There's only 1 million that separates there contracts. I think we should ship Howard out because at least Spoon rebounds, and Mo picks up the offensive slack. We can add someone else through other methods.

I think we should keep howard, if you check out his stats he is pretty consistent. Given his age I think that He and Mo T can probably share the load between them and we can continue to have Mo comming in off the bench

Howard played decently for a loaded Dallas team a few years back... He could easily average around 13ppg and 7rpg with the Rockets.

He can be an enforcer. In a playoff series with San Antonio he gave Derek Anderson a shoulder seperation from a hard foul and knocked the crap outta Malik Rose.

Horry is a smart, defensive specialist and clutch spot-up shooter. He's a good guy coming off the bench. But not a starting PF. No way! Horry has almost NO post game. Also, the Wizards, Denver and Orlando didn't suck just because Howard was on them. They had more problems than just Howard.

What? You think that Horry would make the Wizards, Denver and Orlando championship teams. Please.... think you forget about guys like Shaq, Hakeem and Duncan. Those are the guys that carried the Lakers, Rockets and Spurs. Not Horry....he just played off of those leaders. Like I said. He'd be a good bench player. But that's it.

Lets not forget Cassell elevated The TWolves to the Western Conference Series.

Juwan Howard, for a guy who makes more money than Kobe/Shaq/Jordan/Bill Gates at one point, REALLY REALLY Sucks.

Oh what were you babling about in Dallas? Dude got traded so EDJAUDO NARYAAYA could get more minutes.

Juwan Howard got dumped in Denver for Nene, dumped in Orlando for Dwight Gooden and Goofy from Disney Land.

Juwan Howard is the most overrated player of ALL TIME. He makes Felipe Lopez live up to the hype.

we need a PF that plays strong defense, like Horry.

Cassell is a bonafied "bad-ass" that can carry a team on his shoulders. Horry is not. He's a good bench player.

I'm not going to defend Howards OLD $115 MIL contract. But that has expried if I'm not mistaken.

Lol actually they stated that on 610 that he wasn't able to make it to Houston on such short notice, and also you can't trade a player you just traded for without waiting for like 60 days.

    j-how not an enforcer?

you guys really need to watch some basketball. howard puts up decent numbers and will lay the pipe to some fools. he will be great with mo-t commin off the bench.

spoon or padgett are probably more expendable.
