What are you talking about? Francis never threatened to not honor his contract - he's not stupid enough to sacrifice $65+ million and end his career. All he ever said was that he didn't want to play in Orlando, but he even admitted himself that he didn't have much control over it. This is only all happening because nobody wants a player to play for a team they don't want to be playing for... you know you won't get very good results when that happens.

Either way, what Francis did/said was because of something that was sprung on him. What McGrady did/said was because he just decided on his own he didn't want to be there anymore. Not to mention that he handcuffed the Magic by giving them a wishlist of team(s) that he would play for. Supposedly Houston was the only team he was even willing to re-sign with... Last I heard, free agents were the only ones that were supposed to get that kind of freedom.

The Rockets followed normal NBA protocal. Steve Francis whined when he found out he might go to the Magic.

Tracy McGrady did the Magic a favor. He could have said absolutely nothing until after the trade deadline this coming season and then opted out and the Magic would have gotten nothing. McGrady has every right to tell a team whether or not he will sign an extension with them and that is all he has done. It is actually a huge favor to the Magic.

I am sad to see Steve go but T-Mac is one of the few players that I would be happy to get in return, hell I can still route for steve in orlando when he isn't playing against the Rox. My point is that people are RIDICULOUSLY slapping and badmouthing Steve for no reason. I hate hearing all these dumbasses clown a guy who busted his asssssss off for the rox and the city. Let the guy go peacefully, no need to say dumbass things.

It's amazing how homers can twist facts in their favor, isn't it?

You could say the same thing about Francis. He was doing the Magic a favor by letting them know that he didn't want to play there at first, otherwise he would have gone there quietly, been unhappy and not put 100% on the floor. Same thing would have happened to McGrady if he chose to keep his mouth shut. What a great guy!

    Mindblowing, really.

Fact is, what McGrady did/is doing is 10X worse than what Francis did. TMac coerced a trade, and TOLD his team who exactly he wanted to play for (and how is THAT a favor by the way??? How convenient of you to ignore that fact...). The guy is 25 and is already on the 3rd team of his career. I don't know of too many superstars that can make that claim, do you?... It may not be long before TMac looks for team number 4.

Tracy McGrady gave the Magic double-talk about his intentions - just like his good buddy Shaq did - until Wesibrod came out and made him give them a straight answer. Don't paint him as the pretty one here.
