Davis Mills — Mills outplaying the top-three picks in the 2021 draft as a rookie is either a sign of great things to come or will look insane in a decade. The floor on Mills has definitely been raised; he's an NFL quarterback and possibly a starter. The ceiling is also intriguing, because his physical gifts are obvious. This is not Mike Glennon. https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-final-2021-quarterback-rankings (End of last season) 29. Davis Mills Spoiler https://www.profootballnetwork.com/top-32-nfl-quarterbacks/ 25. Should be a slap in the face to mills. He was clearly better than Lawrence but ppl keep placing Lawrence ahead of him.
Zack Wilson and Justin Fields looked awful last season. Trey Lance has shown nothing. And Mills had vastly superior stats to Trevor Lawrence. This list is trash!
These silly lists have certainly got people clicking/posting/talking, which is the whole point of silly lists like these.
Let's hope he slaps them in the face with his performance this year. The best is yet to come. We are still in the process of adding players to support him.
Not sure where this average arm strength rhetoric is coming from. He’s got an NFL caliber arm, he just throws with good touch. When he has to fire it in there it’s got some zip. You don’t see him under throw balls and they have good loft and carry.
^^^^ Tier 1 1. Aaron Rodgers 2. Patrick Mahomes 3. Tom Brady 4. Josh Allen 5. Justin Herbert 6. Joe Burrow Tier 2 7. Matthew Stafford 8. Russell Wilson 9. Deshaun Watson Spoiler Watson got votes in the first, second and third tiers, plus a lone vote in Tier 5, as voters debated what to make of him after one year on the sideline, two dozen civil lawsuits against him and uncertainty surrounding how much Watson would be available to the Browns this season. “A Tier 1 distraction is what Watson is,” an evaluator said. “It blows me away paying the all-time NFL contract for a Tier 2 player.” Watson is just 26 years old, so there’s time for Cleveland to play the long game. Still … “I can’t believe that the Browns did what they did,” a GM said. “There’s just too many unknowns. I know Andrew (Berry), and I just can’t picture him doing that. Take the contract out of there. Just making this guy the face of your franchise and really not knowing, ‘Do we have him this year, do we not have him this year, will other stuff come up?’ I just can’t imagine doing that.” The Browns did it, and now they are more talented at quarterback, whenever Watson plays. “I know he is all (screwed) up, but he is a 1,” a defensive coordinator said. “I mean, I’m just rating him as a football player. He is a 1. He is legit. You could put the game on him. They were bad and losing in Houston, but it wasn’t because of him.” Houston ranked 10th in offensive EPA and 31st in combined defensive and special-teams EPA in 2020, Watson’s final season as the Texans’ starter. Watson ranked 12th in Total QBR. The team finished 4-12. Voters placed Watson at the bottom of Tier 1 last offseason. They dropped him into the second tier this year. “It will not be hard to put Watson back into Tier 1 if he does what the Dolphins and Cleveland and half-a-dozen other teams thought he would do if they signed him,” an offensive coach said. 10. Lamar Jackson 11. Dak Prescott 12. Derek Carr 13. Kyler Murray 14. Matt Ryan Tier 3 15. Kirk Cousins 16. Jimmy Garoppolo 17. Ryan Tannehill 18. Mac Jones 19. Baker Mayfield T-20. Jalen Hurts T-20. Carson Wentz 22. Jared Goff 23. Trevor Lawrence 24. Jameis Winston Tier 4 25. Justin Fields 26. Tua Tagovailoa 27. Davis Mills 28. Zach Wilson 29. Trey Lance 30. Daniel Jones 31. Marcus Mariota 32. Sam Darnold 33. Mitchell Trubisky 34. Drew Lock Tier 5 35. Geno Smith
Not saying Mills is better than the tier 3 guys, but because of his potential and the age, past performance, and lack of upside of those qb’s the only guy I would trade Mills straight up for is Lawrence (I still think he is going to be really good).
The rankings on the 2nd year QBs is based on draft position. It is LAZY. It is easy to put Mills at 6 because he is the 3rd rounder. Does team play some part of it? Yes, but if you actually watched games...those rankings don't make sense.
I don't care what those jokers rank Mills. You can't go off their draft. It's like they didn't even see how Mills progressed with far less college playing time. Davis Mills threw the second-most TDs among last year's rookie class in just 11 starts and 13 games. Trey Lance, 49ers 5 TDs, 2 INTs 97.3 rating Mac Jones, Patriots 22 TDs, 13 INTs 92.5 rating Davis Mills, Texans 16 TDs, 10 INTs 88.8 rating Justin Fields, Bears 7 TDs, 10 INTs 73.2 rating Trevor Lawrence, Jaguars 12 TDs, 17 INTs 71.9 passer rating
All this hype for Mills, i do hope he performs cause there's really nothing to look forward to for our sht franchise. Hopefully he survives long enough for us to actually win if he's as good as folks like to hype him up. https://sports.yahoo.com/texans-expected-worse-2022-previous-170258837.html
Dude, find another franchise. Lazy writing. Texans have alot to look forward to. They have more talent than last season. No more Watson distraction. A REAL Head Coach and OC to guide them. 22 picks in the next 2 drafts, including 4 #1s. The most cap space in the league in 2023. Texans will be fine. Texans will win atleast 6 games this season. Book it!
U always type the same bs. If folks complain about the franchise: go find another franchise. 100% loyalty to everything the Texans does is not a evidence of being a tru fan, it's just being a sheep. Yea u sold that flexible cap bs to me also when BoB was in charge. Having the most cap space means jack sht if we r just gonna lose more. I can already forsee us having another losing season. New coach, talent lacking basically every position, no franchise star, the list goes on and on. If Mills can b the franchise qb at least that's one less thing our sht franchise has to worry about. Not everyone has to eat up the sht product the texans display to b considered a fan.
