I've predicted OKC selecting Paolo at #2 so it won't surprise me if Rockets trade up to leapfrog #2 to pick Paolo #1. it just makes little sense for the Magics thought, there's no guarantee J.Smith will still be on board at #3 so if Jabari is their guy they're changing the entire game plan if OKC take away J.Smith #2. the only possibilities is the Magics value Jabari and Chet exactly the same and will be happy ending with either one, so they trade the #1 pick to the Rockets for a few more assets and still getting one of Jabari or Chet.

My only thinking is that the rockets don't see this 3 big race as that close. It may not just be that they see Paolo as the best of the 3.

It may also be that they don't think one of Jabari or Chet will become a star and just taking whoever falls to 3 is a risk.

 

Jabari better go #1. I have $ riding on that.

As much as the idea of Paolo has grown on me, I’m not in favor of a trade up.

 

My first thought is that this means nothing.

 

I guess I agree with you since I posted last page it makes no sense that Vegas knows something Woj doesn’t especially when it comes to our org that blasts their intentions about everything like dolts. Again apologies. The only thing that is odd is that the Banchero line has been steadily moving for several days. The overnight jump is one thing…maybe it’s public money based on Paulo being number one on so many draft boards but not mocks.

 

We passed on defense last year (Evan Mobley) to take the flashy, offensive-oriented player in Jalen Green. The fans are always going to want the player that has the best highlights. Statistically speaking, Chet is in another league compared to Paolo and Jabari. Better defense, better offense.

This is an indictment on Chet. There’s a bigger difference between the three top prospects than people thought. I would have no problem moving up to get Banchero or Smith, but I wouldn’t want to give up just a whole lot to do it. Still, if the price is reasonable, hell yes I’m making that deal.
