I've seen everything that can happen in the universe and still expect to be surprised in the NBA draft.
you know what's ironic, which big in the league has stayed the healthiest for years by a significant margin? He just so happens to be the most nonathletic one. And he dropped significant weight a couple years ago as we all know.
if Chet is the 3rd remaining and we are there I’d also rather trade down . does Detroit or sac want him ? Detroit would prolly go for it.
Thats what Im saying. He's getting hurt NOW with a frame that everyone agrees needs to be bulked up. If he has issues now, how well do you think his body will respond when he puts on 20-40 pounds?
we've been on his bandwagon for the whole year. now the people who have no idea how he actually plays are chiming in about his lack of strength, made up conditions and lack of toughness. we know. they haven't a clue.
you obviously didn't get @D-rock post Is Zion skinny? No. its called sarcasm. He's big and has been constantly hurt And Chet hasn't dealt with any significant injuries to date. People who actually follow him would know that
we had the shoulder gurus, high ass specialists, and brand new body experts last year with Mobley Mobley was supposed to get bodied in the NBA and be years away from being a relevant player…oops I never even wanted Mobley over Jalen Green, but had to start defending him a little bit because it was getting ridiculous
summer league experts are otw once again. sure have a lot of the usual knee jerk conclusions off these games every year
yup…Mobley averaged 11 points on 35% shooting in SL, and that was supposed to be proof that he’s got such a long ways to go…then the actual season started
I’ll say , Chet DOES scare me. But it’s less about his body than it is his athleticism, which I guess is tied to his body . 1- he’s taller than mobley 2- he’s much slower than mobley . - now , I don’t mean so much so laterally in defense , I mean in the open court and back and forth . chets lightness actually helps him here , however , he will prolly add some weight over the next 4/5 years .. and I don’t see him improving much at this aspect . plus , he kinda runs hunched over . More Normal for someone his height , but not the best sign. his size is great . But , I see closer to Rudy gobert .. and maybe not even as good defensively . Rudy’s got more weight and has done great things defensively despite not having the best team around him for that. maybe the league is more open to 4:5 transition attacks now and space and Chet can sit near halfcourt while the other guys jack up 3’s . But I think he will be limited A LOT in the early going . Because without this speed , he’s gonna be at a disadvantage. And while he does have good skills for someone his size , I think 3 and D wings will have great success defending him and it will be easy to move him off his spot in the interior for bigs too . I could see Chet dropping to 4 or 5
The same Evan Mobley that they hid behind Jarret Allen the whole year and when Allen got hurt they began losing? Evan couldn't hold his own against actual big men. Chet does not have a Jarret Allen in OKC.
Chet is literally one of the fastest open court bigs to come out in a long time, his mobility is a plus. Very comparable to Mobley
Same folks who watch the March Madness for the first time and use that recency bias while knowing next to nothing about any of the prospects. How many random players get hot in a game or two in a random game then they suddenly turn into oh he's a lottery pick or definite 1st rounder. And over half of these guys aren't even going to be drafted.
began losing? I mean their longest losing streak was a whopping 3 all year when Mobley played. And in his very first year they got to the play in at 44-38. That's nothing bad about Mobley. It was without a doubt a good year
I love Chet as a prospect. If I give Paolo a grade of 9.0 Then Chet is 8.9. A couple points though, yes I believe Chet has some guard skills. However, I am not sure of their application in a 1/2 court offense. I think he will be very good leading a fast break. Also, if you are looking at Chet and saying he has guard skills, you really have to grant the same praise to what Paolo already does. However, Paolo is probably more suited to apply those skills in the 1/2 court. Super happy to acquire either player. We know that Holmgren did not get to show everything he can do. BUT I also think there are some elements for Paolo that he may have showed but not truly displayed what he can do.
