You're either in one of two camps: You think Jabari Smith is far and away the best prospect in the class or you think he'll be an above average to elite role player who's going to offer nothing more than sound D in space and be a 3 point threat.
I figured out the puzzle. Trade Sengun the 26th Gordon and bucks pick for Duran. 17th and some Nets assets for sochan draft scoot next season Scoot Green Sochan Paolo Duran championship aspirations
Banchero or bust. let's gooooooooooo. just need a pre-draft tweet about how OKC needs to back to Seattle for a chance to draft him.
Stone is an idiot. He showed his hand way too early by trading away wood right after working out banchero.
I think he'll have a similar offense to KP. KP may not be the best ball handler or finisher, but his shot is good enough to score 20ppg for his career so far. Smith is one of the best shooting big men we've seen in years. Hard to believe he can't score on the next level with that advantage. The floor is very spread in the NBA.
so Paolo is skipping work outs for the magic, @D-rock feels good when the shoe is on the other foot now, where we have a player skipping work outs for us.
All the top guys are 6'10" and above lol and if you want to believe the Rockets FO, they have been trying to trade him for a year
The more I think about it, we're extremely lucky to get Paolo, and barring a huge surprise from Orlando/OKC, we get the best talent in this Draft at #3. Scouts have over-nitpicked Paolo, while putting someone like Jabari on a pedestal, mostly because they're prioritizing a few modern attributes (shooting, defensive switchability) over everything else. Don't get me wrong, they are very important in this day and age, and I do think Jabari will be valuable for those reasons, but everything in basketball is dependent on shot-creation in one way or another. Whether it's through 1-on-1 scoring, driving and collapsing the defense for a kick out or just P/R lobs/finishes...being able to hit shots is dependent on someone creating the open look first (for themself or for others), while being able to switch on D is valuable in that it's harder for a creator to exploit a mismatch. One could point to GS's excellent ball-movement as an exception, but even that is dependent on the sheer gravity Steph creates, both on and off the ball. If he's moving (off) or attacking (on), the defense is naturally going to be on its heels. Long story short, Jalen and Paolo both have excellent shot-creating potential (for themselves and others), and they do it in different ways. If we build a sound offense around these two, we're going to put a ton of pressure on defenses. And with a Top-3 pick, I want someone who can do that, over someone whose appeal comes in skills that are secondary/tertiary to creation (this is assuming Paolo ends up solid on D, which I think he will). Prioritize those attributes with the rest of your roster.
No idea what all this Vegas movement means, but holding out hope it leads us to a better chance at the true prize in this draft. CHET HOLMGREN
