3:50 pm and STILL nothing on the ESPN site.. that is just SOOOOO funny! And you KNOW that when they DO put something up, it'll be something like: "ESPN is proud to break the news to everyone that THE TRADE has finally happened. Chad Ford found it out first! Really! Nobody else knew before we did! Honest! And.. and... and THIS JUST IN!!! SHAQ HAS DEMANDED TO BE TRADED FROM THE LAKERS!!! YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST!! geez if it doesn't involve an east coast new york-or-boston club in some way, it's like they just don't care. THANK ALL THAT IS GOOD AND HOLY FOR CLUTCH *CITY* . NET!!
ONE MORE TIME: NO press conference at 4pm. Just an announcement for now. Press conferences either tonight or tomorrow.
Anyone else notice this from the Chronicle coverage? Official announcement of the trade is not expected until Wednesday. Officials from both teams declined comment. I hope they stick to 610's quote of a 4PM news conference today...I don't want to wait any longer!!
Maybe now I won't ever have to see the F'ing word "SPLASH" on this sight ever again. That really got nauseating.
I'm glad it worked out...I finally signed up for an bbs account a couple of weeks ago so I could keep track of what was going on, then I was worried that I had jinxed it, then I was worried I would never be able to post under this username. Thank goodness. I appreciated Steve, but I can't honestly say that he's improved at all in the past three or four years, while T-Mac has continued to get better. I just checked the Harvard alum website...Weaselbrod's name is listed, but no e-mail address. Not that I would send him anything until after the first game next season ("We're looking into possibly trading back Steve Francis for Tracy McGrady because several good offers continue to pour in...").
I can't wait for the season to start! Just to see the reaction from most of you fans. I can hear it now. "But we have Tmac and Yao! I thought this year was different". By mid season, Yao will be complaining about how tired he is. Tmac will make a comment how he owes it to his family to explore his options after the season. This team still has holes at the 4, 3, and 1. The bench is also lacking. Add S. Jackson, B. Barry and a rebounding 4, and then look out. But for right now, June 29, 2004, The Rockets are a playoff possibility, not a lock. Don't think so? Portland and Utah, 2 teams that barely missed the playoffs will be better. Phx will be better (assuming they make the anticipated splash in free agency i.e. Nash). New Orleans is now in the west. Of the 6 teams that finished in front of the Rockets last year, which one is not better than the Rockets today. My only point is keep the big picture in mind.
is the NBA power shifting to Texas if Shaq goes to dallas we have Yao and T-Mac in houston, San antonio with T duncan the NBA's future champions will reside in state of Texas? The east is screwed with the anomaly of detroit what comes close to the Texas Triangle?
