I think that there are some sports that should probably be gender neutral.

Bowling for instance, why are there men's and women's leagues?

Seems that everything is equal there in that game.

    Any others ?

LOL - figured this was a taboo topic and people afraid to say something but thought we would get some discussion.

The equal pay for equal work thing is right, so what sports or games could women and men compete in a TRUE equal format?

Clearly not Basketball, football etc..etc....but what about things like GOLF, or BOWLING or any others?

I would love to see events that had both males and females on equal footing competing.

    Darts.

I don't know much about golf or bowling, but I'd expect a man's strength to make a difference about how far they can hit a golf ball or roll a bowling ball.

Yep, basically all bar/backyard games of skill (ie non-sports): pool, darts, shuffleboard, cornhole, bocce, etc...

eta: There's a few Olympic sports that are more technical in nature: diving, curling, shooting, archery and I'm sure some others

Poker, darts, equestrian (which I think is co-ed). Figure skating has co-ed partners. It's tough to say in a vacuum because you definitely have some women that could compete and do well in men's leagues. On the flip side, men have a disadvantage with a sport like gymnastics because of their testicles.

Really though it's become a fun circle jerk for people to discuss. Women can say "YAS queen! We could totally beat the boys if they'd just let us play" and then complain about the wage gap. Men don't have to worry about losing to a girl, and with politics can now blame all of their daughter's losses on sports being rigged against women. You think ****'s annoying now, wait until some girls are accused of being trans because of their chin or jawline.

I should also add I played in amateur co-ed leagues before. Usually there were rules designed to make things even, like forcing women to guard women in basketball or having batting/fielding lineups that featured everyone for kickball/baseball.

I honestly don't think much people think about it, which is why its always a big deal when people like myself try to play sports or when there's a female punter in a football game.

I guess racing. Despite the jokes about women drivers, a physical factor would be endurance (heat and sweating) takes a toll over the length of the event.

I'm not sure which sex has faster reflexes. Might a be a good time waster to sift fact from fiction, since many other things like race, amt of training, or age would have to be accounted for.

There are quite a few less physical, more skill oriented sports where women should be physically capable of competing with men, but there seems to be more to it than the physical advantage men have.

Chess theoretically should be completely gender neutral, yet at the highest levels it is overwhelmingly male dominated (only one women in the top 100). They have to create women's titles just so they can be platformed. I don't know if the gulf is psychological (men are hardwired to be more competitive) or sociological (society trains women to not want to compete with men), but it's certainly a thing.

Don't think there is a competitive factor to this. Seen to many equally competitive women on and off the field. This is physical. But ultimately it leads one to the inevitable conclusion that one day physical sport will become irrelevant. We will either all be on performance enhancers to level the field, or an alien race will win everything, whatever happens, there will be no point to it anymore. The same thing will happen to mental competition when we download knowledge. So ultimately, then what. And I don't know. Borg. I guess. Which puts Bjorn right back on the map.

Cornhole. While the guys currently are better, many of the females have beaten some of the top guys and even won an open event. Personally I have lost to a couple pro women but I am not quite elite.

Poker (mainly Texas Hold’em), Blackjack, Roulette, and Dominoes. Also, rolling dice either at the casinos or in the streets.

So why should they get equal pay for sports if they clearly can't compete?

Or if the product is not as good?

Tough subject matter - we want to be an equal society, but in athletics, it is the product on the floor or field or court that matters.

So, why should the women's national soccer team get equal pay when they are losing to the boys U14 team 5-0...???? I get that men and women put in equal time to get to that peak performance, but the sports are different, clearly.

I find women's tennis to be just as entertaining, and often more so, than men's tennis. Same with MMA. Whether or not Serena Williams could beat Novak Djokovic, or whether Holly Holm could beat Jon Jones is irrelevant.
