This team with Banchero won't be worst team in the league level to get that top pick in '23. No one player will fix this defense not even Giannis. Defense is team effort.
Exactly. ONE player will not turn this defense around. Need multiple long defenders around Green and Sengun as possible. Adding another non elite defender to Green and Sengun is just further exacerbating the horrific defensive issues.

If we're bottom three it means that either Jalen hasn't progressed enough to be a core player or Paolo isn't as NBA ready as we thought. Both are a problem.

I think right now the core is Green, #3 and Sengun. If KPJ takes another step and doesn’t melt down he’ll be extended as a core player too, but we’ll just have to wait and see what happens. I think all those guys have enormous upside if we can keep them together.
Stone and Tilman are morons for tanking yet another year. The odds of the first pick is 14%….loser mentality once again.
Folks who can't even bother to learn the tanking odds shouldn't talk about how tanking doesn't work. It's all about the increasing ones percentage of getting the best player.
So if we're a bottom team again next year Green and Banchero are busts? Didnt Trae jump to 29ppg his 2nd season and were a bottom team? You guys routinely set yourselves up for disappointment. Bottom 6 team next year is most likely. Bottom 3 if Silas ends up as bad as many think and we fire him and go through an interim coach season which are always a lost season.
