Frustration is no excuse to lead to unprofessionalism. He could have gotten a much bigger role as the star of the team once Harden left. In his mind he sure did. Acted like it. Just did not play like it, and then it got worse as he started bricking forced shots or taking the 1mph drive to the basket on a regular basis.
For Gordon, I think the Rockets either take a future FRP or package him with something, including the two lower picks to trade up. I just don't see them taking so many rookies this year.
Well said. It was so unexpected and delightful. Another tick in the "Stone is a good GM" column. Yeah we know his worst quality (but not by much) was his attitude, selfishness etc. But, even for those too delusional to accept that, he just didn't fit. Sengun is the future. Paolo is the future. He had to go for purely fit reasons as well. And last but not least...he sucks at basketball and was infuriating to watch. Can't wait to witness the Mavs fan base slowly turn on him.
perhaps the most objective reason other than those you gave: he’s gonna be a free agent at the end of the season and wants $20+ mil per year. So the alternative was take less at the deadline or lose him for nothing
I assume the overall atrocious team defense was helping quite a bit. Mavs were a good defensive team this year, they probably cover Woods weaknesses a bit better I'll certainly keep an eye out for it tho
Toxic behavior, attitude problems. selfishness, bad habits, getting into with coaches I totally get it but he dam sure wasn't the only one with those traits and is due for an extension.
I dunno but in this first game with Harden there was already more than I can count. If you don’t think our guards have problems getting people the ball on the roll I dunno what you have been watching all year.
I don’t like the trade because I still think we got hosed, but Wood is the worst interior defender I think I’ve ever seen. The question becomes, is he really that bad? Or was he that bad because he was allowed to get away with it? Either way it’s unacceptable, but it is going to be really interesting to see what happens with him defensively somewhere else.
