Even if it wasn't Banchero either one of the top 3 would be good for the team. No need to waste picks just to move up 1 or 2 spaces.
So the Rockets are liars too then? They are the ones who measured him. Why would they release bad information that another team could use as the last piece of data to choose Paolo over another player? Doesnt make any sense how you guys are freaking out over this and trying to turn it into a negative.
I don't consider a retweet an official confirmation. Sorry if that makes me cynical. "Why would he lie?" is a silly question unless you think no player has ever lied about their height before. Some have, for various reasons. A couple inches of height either way doesn't matter to me. I just think it's funny what some people consider official.
What does he gain by adding half an inch to his height? Seriously humor me? Will that drop him out of draft consideration? These were Houston Rocket measurements. Why would they release that he was TALLER than listed how does that help the Houston Rockets who have not tried to hide how much they covet this guy. Shouldnt they say he's 6'9 barefoot? Strange clutching of pearls on this one.
Rockets did NOT put out that info. Someone unaffiliated with Rockets said it on podcast. And wasn't even sure of the source. It's not a negative that Paolo could be 10'5.5 but saying he's 7 feet is BS. JUST STOP WITH THE BS.
Its not a waste if it gets you the player you want. Perhaps some folks dont care between Chet and Paolo, but I bet there are those who clearly like one over the other. If Stone is the later, expect something to happen, or at least offered.
I don't see where the Rockets released those measurements. I'll consider Paolo's height confirmed when it's listed on an NBA roster because the NBA requires height to be measured in a standardized manner. Sorry if you consider that pearl clutching.
This is a bit old, but an interesting look at possible outcomes for Banchero, even if it is heavily stats based. https://deanondraft.com/2022/03/24/where-does-paolo-banchero-fit-in-the-modern-nba-and-2022-draft/
That is a really great read. The busts that were mentioned as comps were all very poor playmakers compared to Paolo coming into the draft. That is one of the distinctions that gives me faith. I thought the Grant Hill and Lamar Odom comps were interesting.
Cool! When the “official” measurement comes out I’ll find you guys. Until then though I think I’ll just keep saying Paolo is a 7 footer. Has a nice ring to it.
You can increase your wingspan as much as you want if you let your fingernails grow. #UntappedPotential
Somehow I hope we get Banchero now. My order of preference: Banchero Holmgren Smith My gut feeling tells me Smith has the most bust potential of the three.
Isn't the general consensus that Smith has the highest floor of the three? I'd argue the other 2 have a higher ceiling, and I'd argue that as someone who would really love to see Smith as a Rocket!
