The Untouchables

I think someone posted before that Tate is an extremely good locker room guy/one of the leaders think he called out Wood at one point last year lot of the younger guys like him.

 

I think I remember hearing that too. Honestly that's reason enough to try to keep him.

 

I like Tate a lot but he shoots 30% from 3. Also, his D isn't that special. Hard to fit him onto a winning roster in a supporting role.

 

Nobody is really untouchable. Green and the #3 pick are the most valuable. Followed be Sengun.

Tate is hitting FA after the year, so I'd be tempted to move him rather than pay him. I'd say the same for Porter. Don't know what kind of return either would fetch, but I wouldn't be afraid to move either.

 

Hopefully we can get one more tank season in and get Victor next season.

 

Certainly the shooting would have to drastically improve to keep him long term, but if his teammates love him, I'm good with giving him another year to prove he can't hang before giving up.

 

I don't think they'll be in contention for the bottom pick unless Green and KPJ are back to being straight trash like they were to start last season and Banchero is bad.

 

Untouchable by the Rockets FO or untouchable by our liking?

If it's the former, there's clearly only Green and #3.
If it's the latter, throw in Sengun.

Green and Sengun are the only current untouchables. Number 3 pick can/should be, but they haven’t played a single minute in the NBA.

 

I'd rather start Christopher at the 3. I don't know that we will want to re-sign Tate. Kind of two ships passing type of thing.

If Christopher doesn't work out, Eason or whomever will be ready.

 

Unfortunately, there are really no untouchables in the Rockets roster. It'll be dependent on what's offered. I can say barely it's Green but unless Silas is replaced and the Rockets got a more concrete goal, then he's not off the table. He's a still a bit lacking as 1st foundational piece. He fits as a 2nd or 3rd though.

 

Sengun is still raw but has potential.

 

You forgot Josh Christopher, but yeah. Otherwise this.

 

I voted Green and #3.

I'm not in favor of trading Sengun but if some team falls in love with him and is ready to overpay I wouldn't be mad if we traded him.

Garuba is a name I would be a little upset about losing, but that's mostly because we haven't seen enough of him yet. He has great defensive potential.
