Only Brooks didn’t win a damn thing in the playoffs.

Never posted much and I don't even come on to the site often any more, but this thread from 2010 never gets old. Quality over quantity.

Well he got hurt, he was on fire until Manu slid his foot under him - I was at that game it was a dirty play.

Man, as a Rockets fan.... after all these years and seeing everything I've seen, all of the daggers, all of the playoff series, all of the Draymond Green assisted clutching and grabbing and tripping for wide open shots, my vote has solidified

    Aaron Brooks

I still remember that play. You could feel the importance of it when it happened. Gut-wrenching.

Totally missed on his defense, but basically perfect calls on everything else. Not bad

In a parallel universe where Ginobili didn’t impede Brooks landing space, Aaron Brooks is a Hall of Famer

It’s interesting that the thing people were pointing at for arguing Curry over Brooks were non-shooting skills— like ball-handling and court vision. And then Curry just happens to end up being the greatest shooter of all time.

Goes to show what an all-around great player he is.

This also is another example of how fleeting stardom can be in the league.

Brooks was once a fringe all-star kind of player, while I don't think anyone predicted he'd be some top 5 player you'd think he'd be a relevant player for a long time. Instead the guy was drafted in 2007 and playing in China in 2011.

I mean you look at his career he really had one year where played way above his head and that's about it.

This was what I posted 6 years after the OP.

People love to quote themselves in an necrobump thread... if they were right. :D

BTW, if @hakeem94 was here in 2010, she would have laughed at people who thought a 7th pick could be better than a 26th pick. :D

Why is this a conversation? It's criminal to even say Brooks in a sentence with Curry.

The thread was created in Curry's rookie season. Even then, he was probably better, but it was closer. ;)
