    Golden State Warriors: Mario Elie was hired as an assistant for new coach Mike Montgomery's staff on Monday.


    Elie played two of his 11 NBA seasons with the Warriors, teaming up with Chris Mullin, the team's new executive vice president of basketball operations. He won three NBA titles in his career and served as an assistant in San Antonio last season.


    "He had an extremely successful career as an NBA player and knows what it takes to be a winner in this league," Mullin said. "His experience on the bench with San Antonio this past season has prepared him well for this opportunity."

    Elie should go to Los Angeles and be an ast coach with whoever the coach is going to be for the Lakers.

    So Mario's going to Cali...does this mean he'll take Gina with him? I'd love to see her leave Channel 13 again. There's just something about her that reminds me of the sound of nails scratching a chalkboard....

    Very cool, i hope he does well as an assistant coach. I love seeing ex-rockets doing well (Pippen doesnt count). :)

    Ellie would have been a nice addition to our coaching roster. Something about Ewing just doesn't do it for me, I wonder what it is....:)
