I'd do it. Take Eason or Mark Williams at #13. KPJ Green Banchero Johnson MW Sengun first off the bench with 30+ minutes. Or draft Eason and sign Mo Bamba/Mitch Robinson.
I'm not exert on the Hawks either but with them being in win now mode I think they value guys with more experience. Tate, at 26, has the experience edge over Johnson and is probably the better fit right now as a defender first than Jalen.
Think they'd prefer EGo + Tate. Tate is a wing, starter and All Rookie. And EGo is still legit name and postseason performer. McMillan should love them both.
Eason is always my target moving up for the Rockets. I think a KPJ/Green/JC/Nix rotation at guard, Banchero/Eason/Johnson/Martin at forward and Sengun/Garuba/project big like Badji at center is the way to go for this squad. Complete rebuild in 2 seasons with a chance at another lottery pick next season.
I am not saying i dislike something like that. To look at that and think that would not be a bottom 5 record i dunno. Green and KPJ would have to be extremely good. 6 of the top 8 players getting minutes would average a whopping total of 24 games started in the nba. I would guess that having a pretty bad record from what i have seen in the nba in my recollection. People would debate whether that would be good or bad for that many young guys on a team to play that much regarding the future of the rockets. Meaning "losing habits setting in" etc vs. tons of experience & growing together as a team. I would mostly skew to the latter. Paolo seems like a winner. Jalen Green seems to want to be great from what i can tell.

I'm pretty settled with Paolo at #3 for the Rockets...but just for fun: Houston Out: #3, #17, Gordon, Tate, Wood, Nwaba Houston In: #4, #5, Bledsoe, Nurkic Sacramento Out: #4, Holmes Sacramento In: #7, Wood, Tate Detroit Out: #5, Grant Detroit In: #3, Holmes Portland Out: #7, Bledsoe, (SnT Nurkic to the Rockets 3yr/40m) Portland In: #17 Gordon, Grant, Nwaba Houston comes out with two lottery picks (Ivey, Murray, Sharpe, Griffin). Or they can trade up with one of the picks for additional assets. Use Nurkic until he can be flipped to a contender. Sacramento drops 3 spaces and reloads with more fire power. Detroit moves up 2 slots to pair Cade with another top pick Portland reloads around Dame with vets (they want Grant) and still keep a first rounder to trade for further assets.
I posted this elsewhere but felt it belonged here. Houston out: #17, wood, ego, sengun, tate Houston in: #4, bledsoe, holmes, holiday Sacremento out: #4, holmes, holiday, harkless, davis Sacremento in: #7, wood, ego Portland out: #7, bledsoe Portland in: #17, sengun, tate, harkless, davis
DeAngelo is the guy I really want to trade for. Wood would look great next to KAT. They resign Tyus; maybe we throw in EG and a pick. They are shopping him: https://apple.news/Aem-UzVF6RWSc0DvHdxxeoA Or maybe we should sign Tyus. Tyus is like Lowry before we signed him. Either way, there’s a real opportunity to get Tyus or Russell and we should definitely consider.
because he’s an all star talent at a position of need. He had his best assist to turnover ratio of his career this past season. But to be clear, I’d rather just sign Tyus Jones than trade assets for DeAngelo. I know positionless basketball is the thing now but I still think a real point guard would unlock Jalen Green and make our team better.
he's not an allstar talent that's ridiculous, and will be a massive negative asset on his next contract
he's basically the posterchild for the exact players the rockets need to do everything in their power to avoid
Wood, Nwaba, Matthews, Korkmaz, Tate and Turner to Charlotte Green, Hayward,13,15, and 23 to Houston Plumlee, PJ Washington and 17 to Indiana. Gordon to Philly Rockets get 3 firsts to go with pick #3 along with a bad contract of hayward (sit him out like wall) but can be used for a big fish in a S&T. Draft Paolo, Mark Williams, Eason & Liddell or Hardy
2023 FRP (# 1 protected)+Brooklyn 2024 FRP (Top 2 protected)+Mil 2023 FRP(unprotected) for OKC 2022 FRP. They pass on taking Chet #2 but acquire a pick that will likely fall #2-#6 in 2022 and a pretty enticing FRP option in 2024. We set it up to where if our 2023 pick ends up @#1 the protections on every pick owed to OKC fall away and they become completely unprotected. Should the Brooklyn 2024 not convey, same thing. If the protection on our picks are already unlocked, we give them the Brooklyn assets. We then trade Wood+Gordon+Tate+#17+ for #7. #2-Chet #3-Paolo #7-Mathurin Sengun/Garuba Holmgren/KMJ Paolo/Mathurin Green/Jaygup KPJ/Nix
i’d love Rubio on this team, but just can’t see him signing with Houston at this stage of his career. I figure he’d be looking to play for a more competitive team. But who knows.
