First Teaser is out..... Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema have premiered the first trailer for its DC live-action superhero film “Black Adam” from Warner Bros. Pictures. Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the ancient gods – and imprisoned just as quickly – Black Adam (Dwayne Johnson) is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world. He is joined by the live-action film introduction of the Justice Society of America and co-stars include Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, Aldis Hodge as Hawkman along with Sarah Shahi, Marwan Kenzari, Bodhi Sabongui and more. This trailer six comes over half a year after a brief glimpse of footage was released as a part of the DC Fandome event. Jaume Collet-Serra helms the film from a screenplay written by Adam Sztykiel and Rory Haines & Sohrab Noshirvani. “Black Adam” will open in cinemas and on IMAX screens on October 21st. https://www.darkhorizons.com/teaser-trailer-dcs-black-adam/
Looks like a regular paint by numbers modern Super hero movie. Looks like it's just the Rock being the Rock again. If would be cool if The Rock is the villain in this movie.
Black Adam is tied to Captain Marvel (Shazam!). Basically the same powers, without the kid. https://bookriot.com/who-is-black-adam/
Trailer did nothing for me. I'm glad to see that Rock has downsized a bit; he didn't look human when he was at his peak. I hope it's good. I like The Rock but his movies suck ass. I liked Shazam for what it was - a fun side project. I don't know if they intend for Black Adam to be in that role or if he's meant to eventually be alongside Cavill's Superman. We will see.
Retconned in the comics to be a good guy. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Adam#JSA_series:_Black_Adam_reforms
That's basically my take. I can't stand DC, but this looks mildly interesting. But as usual for DC corniness, I can't wait for him to fight his ancient nemesis, White Ralph.
I don't know much about the character/hero since.... DC.... but his history/powers seem interesting at least. As opposed to the usual DC "heavy hitters" like Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, etc. who all seem ancient and generic. Hopefully they don't screw it up like Marvel does with some of their heavy hitters. I'm waiting for Disney/Marvel to screw up Galactus if/when they bring him out.
I think the anticipation is a bit high I am really looking forward to it but It is not exploding for me yet Rocket River
DC and Marvel have been stealing form each other for decades. DC even has a Spiderman who is a villain assassin. wacky stuff.
It's been mostly Marvel with the stealing. https://screenrant.com/marvel-dc-superheroes-copies-rip-offs/ They forgot Thanos being a rip off of Darkseid.
