And the targeting laser was broken during the actual mission. All that was missing was Maverick saying over the comms "Use the Force, Rooster."

    Translation.
Jennifer Connely is still megahot and makes the nuts bubble so why hire me?

Btw, the wife and I really enjoyed this movie. Then the original came on TV again; sooooo juvenile and stupid, but I was 17 when it was released, so my 53 year-old self is not so nostalgic.

It's worth seeing in the theater, I actually might see it again in IMAX.

Obviously plot holes blah blah but the effects/planes are worth it.

Yeah, pretty much the only question going through the movie is, who is the redshirt?

Tony Scott's intro cinematography, high speed film (actual film) in silhouette was superior. I doubt Joseph Kosinski has ever looked through a camera to be fair but just to give props to Scott for what he achieved. His cutting room floor scraps were so beautiful they cut them together to provide the title sequence. No one notices when basically same footage is used right before the third act.

I'm so glad I saw this in theaters. Such an enjoyable well made flick. This is why we go to the movies. For all the crap Tom Cruise has gotten that could have sunk most actors careers, the guy is freaking awesome and keeps putting out really quality products. A+

Cruise is really fantastic in Sci Fi's. Reason is, is that he is a good actor.

I've always liked him after his Tropic Thunder appearance. It was such an underrated role that showed he was willing to not have to look a certain way.

It's a movie with AIRPLANES. You NEED Atmos for this I feel. Just gig it.

10/10. Chronic lack of You've Lost that Lovin' Feelin', however.

One of the guys in my poker group is an Atmos exec, he would LOVE that you say that.

They are trying to get ATMOS as an option in a Tesla, he brought the car over and omfg that sound.....

If you have MS Flight Sim check out the Top Gun DLC which is free. It's really cool and lets you recreate most of the things that they do in the actual movie. They even have the experimental darkstar there which you can fly up to mach 9
