I do, because it was also his game at HS and International level. High efficiency + the higher scoring volume.
I should have added that we saw how that turned out with Green and the same could outcome is probably going to happen with Paolo - Green was worth the hype based on how he finished out the season. Paolo could start off playing like crap and certain people are going to dump on him because of all the hype around his abilities. All the mocks save a couple have us picking Paolo and that's a safe pick, but i'm wondering if Stone really wants Chet and is working on a way to get him.
Trading up would be a filthy win if Chet is Rockets target. If Chet is not Stone's trade up target, I'd rather just stay put and take the best available of top 3 that falls to us.
Banchero overall 2p% .525 Jabari overal 2p% .435 Both scored around 17ppg. One did it on .478 shooting, the other on .429
Interestingly, Smith has better overall efficiency. Banchero TS% .557, while taking 13.2 FGA Smith TS% .570, while taking 12.6 FGA This is because Jabari: (1) shoots more 3s, and (2) shoots more FTs. I am curious why Paolo takes fewer free throws when he is supposed to be better at driving to the rim.
Are you trying to say Banchero isn't good scoring at the rim? If his 3 point percentage isn't great and his mid range game is now being scrutinized, how is he scoring 17ppg and .525 on two pointers? True Shooting Percentage ways heavy on free throws and three pointers but no one is arguing Jabari is the best shooter. Jabari shot 14% of his shots at the rim this year. Here is a list of forwards that shot that percentage and better coming out of college. I don't think we should compare their scoring at the rim. At the end of the day they scored the same amount of points but Banchero did it more efficiently.
Fogg understands. Chet at 69% TS. Guys pumping Paolo midrange at 48%.....like that's going to be an easier shot for him against NBA length. Oh...length. Chet 7'6" Paolo 7'0.5" But...but....but...we gotta talk ourselves into Paolo being better than Chet and Bari. Oh....he's losing weight and can play the 3 now. Chet is too skinny though.
Considering plenty of people have Paolo #1 on their board and have for a while, it isn't a stretch. Paolo is the power forward version of what people dreamed Kevin Porter Jr would hopefully become. He is a better player than Chet and Jabari right now. And he will be for at least a few years. If Chet works on his game and the Thunder incorporate it better than Gonzaga did I could see him eventually being better. Jabari at 43% from two is super yikes.
Yup at 6-10, he can't finish at the rim. Also he can't create his own shot nor has handles. With his shooting and perimeter defense, he should be the perfect fit but he just scares me
Quoted for truth Banchero is a 4. A potential star level 4. If he's there draft him and either trade up for a 3-D wing or trade for a vet 3-D wing. Does a team like Charlotte have a young 3-D wing sitting on the bench? Charlotte/Washington are trade partners I would look at if I was wanting to trade Wood for a vet wing. Otherwise I'm looking at moving up into the top 10 to draft a young wing. this draft appears to be deep at that position.
This was posted months ago and more and more info coming out That the rockets(Stone) has always preferred Paolo Everything with picking "ivey" is a smokescreen so that Thunder don't trade back with the kings to pick ivey(if that is who they want) because if the kings are trading up, they are doing that for Paolo. @D-rock I could be wrong but that what I believe as of right now.
