I remember a move in his rookie years vs. the Clippers when he made the defender fall down, wait for him to get up just to make him fall again and score 2. I like Steve.

Away game Vs GSW in 02-03.

He dribbles past midcourt and his mouth guard falls off to the court. He back pedals, picks it back up and puts in right back in his mouth. The commentators were shocked, so was the crowd.

Then he proceeds to the 3 pt line on the left side of the court. He dribbles and takes on Mike Dunleavy Jr, crosses him up not once, but twice and goes in for the double clutch layup.

    That was a classic.:D

Now that he's officially gone, I want to up this post since it seems to be the official Steve & Cat reminiscing post.

Man, I miss those guys already. I won't deny that the Rockets may be a better team next season. But there's a reason why I don't root for teams like the Yankees, who coldly assemble all-star line-ups every season. To me, true fandom means living with the imperfections of your team, and growing to love and appreciate the players and their idiosyncrasies.

.... okay, enough corny stuff. Let's go T-Mac and Yao and we'll miss you #3 and #5.

My favorite Steve moment came in a losing effort during his rookie year. I don't even remember who it was against, though I think it might have been LA. The Rockets fell behind 20, and Steve brought them back to within 3 or so before falling away.

Gritty individual effort. He played near-perfectly. Back when we all thought Steve was going to be Isiah Thomas, but better, because he had hops.

How could you possibly compare us to the Yankees? We gave up one allstar and 2 good role players for another all star. It's not like we 'Mark Cubaned' players over here with shear cash.
I know you're not saying we're 'exactly' the same as the Yankees situation, but EVERY major team trades players and have new ones every year. The Rockets are no different...and trust me, we'll still have plenty of imperfections for you to fall in love with this next season. ;)

The dunk over arvydis sabonis and then the extra ride on sabo's shoulders was probablly the most memorable...gonna miss him.

I dont remember the exact game, but it was against Sacto and Christie was on a fast break and Stevie ran him down and blocked it against the backboard and then got a T for taunting and I think he ended up gettin ejected over some bull$hit but it showed he had heart and didnt take no $hit from no one so thats my favorite memory. That and his dunks in the contest wit Carter, he even beat out T-Mac that year.
