Job done, bit of a back in with tonight's loss, but the main job was to get to the WC, and we did. DD
Bummer of a game but qualification is all that matters. There's no trophy for winning the group. We'll see what the story going forward is tomorrow once the groups are announced. I'm excited for the future of this team. They're still so young and inexperienced at this level. If Berhalter doesn't have Yedlin or Brooks on the final 23-man roster, we'll have a roster with no WC experience for the first time since 1990. Crazy to think about. Just gotta be healthy at the right time. I'm hoping for a healthy slate of friendlies this summer. I've heard Argentina is looking to come play in the US vs us and mexico in friendlies. That'll likely not get announced until after the draw, just in case one of us ends up in the same group. I do wonder, though, what this team would look like with Jesse Marsch in charge instead of GB. I feel like his style fits this group of players better. Hopefully we'll see sometime down the road. But also. if GB is still in charge in a few years, it's because good things are happening.
Don't think that is possible there are some rules about 2 teams from same region in the same group..... DD
Guess the friendlies go here too. Dominant performance against Moracco - very nice 3-0 win - could have been more. DD
It's exciting that the USMNT will be in Austin for a friendly next week, but I have no desire to spend the money required to watch them beat up on Grenada.
That's technically not a friendly. It's a CONCACAF Nations League first round game. If Pulisic thinks the crowd was sparse for the game vs Morocco, wait until he learns that people aren't going to pay $300+ for lower level tickets to see them play the Little Sisters of the Poor in a meaningless "tournament" game.
Wait that is what the Grenada game is??? LOL - I will wait until last second to pick them up cheap. But if you are the coach, you probably don't have your A team there anyway. DD
There's literally no other reason to have Grenada as it's a game that does nothing for the development of a team trying to prep for a World Cup. I'd expect tomorrow's lineup vs Uruguay will be mostly likely World Cup starters and the 2 games vs Grenada and El Salvador will be those on the fringe. It's a shame for Djordje Mihailovic getting hurt. Would've been a great time to see if what he's doing in the MLS finally translates to the international game.

We beat Grenada easily 5-0 last night went to the game, and then today, my youngest son who had scholarship offers and Umass and Michigan to play soccer but turned them down for an academic ride to Utah got to meet the entire team at an Austin Golf course he works at. He played in the Dallas Cup last year against Ricardo Pepi and he and Pepi got to talk a bit and he remembered my son as he played CB against him all game. Pretty danged cool DD
