In my experience from fantasy and Sim leagues, I learned one of the basic things you must do to be successful as a GM is to not jerk people around. They simply stop trusting you. Every GM in the league has put a red flag next to Weisbrod's name and he's been on the job for less than a few months. Maybe redemtion will come in the coming years when we watch time after time the Magic be passed up for deals because of their incompetent GM. Should the Rockets ever deal with the Magic again if Weisbrod remains as the General Manager?
Its not in the interest of the Rockets to rush this one. They need to get true value for Steve Francis and this cant be done till July 1st. So possibly the trade might not be finalised till July 14th/15th.
I don't think we really know enough, despite all the hate going on here. We don't know if Weisbrod made any promises. Just judging from the actions of Steve's agent, Les, CD, and some of our own verified insiders - I'd say that he probably did lie. But there's still the possibility - which the Magic fans are insisting on - that he never did more than hint. If that's true, he's just ineffective, not untrustworthy. Ah, hell... what am I saying... I want T-mac... let's lynch the ****er.
IT cant be as bad as it seems. Theres no way a GM would show up a team this Bad its not good for his team or his rep. Theres just no way that STEVE FRANCIS IS NOT GOING TO PLAY FOR THE MAGIC NEXT SEASON..
Is Weisbrod a better person because he gave direct comments on the situation? Or would it have been better to just leak it. Either way, this guy is messing with my brain.
That's because he is doing what he set out to do. He has the fans and media bamboozled there. Congrats Weisbrod you worked your magic. Now that you have them bamboozled you have made your point...get on with the trade.
