Five game winning streak. 7 1/2 game lead in the division. Your Houston Astros.

Martinez has been very good this year. 6 games, 11 innings, 5 hits, 4 BBs, 8 Ks and zero runs scored against. When are we going to pitch him outside of blow out games?

I dont think siri and mccormick is a bad platoon at all. Both good defenders. Both can hit. We need more pop out of the 1b and 3b spots. CF has been pretty good.

edit: yes they both have holes in their swings right now.

What are they going to do when Meyers is ready? Chaz and Siri have done well. Not great hitting but good enough and they are both good defensively.

I thought the same thing, but someone has to be the mop up guy. That’s how good our bullpen has been this season. No disrespect, but it’s nice not seeing Josh James in those situations.

I’m more concerned out how the pitching staff shakes out if/when you add Odorizzi, McCullers and Hunter Brown.

Catch probability is almost as dumb as expected batting average.

It is what it is. It's not dumb, it's just another number that doesn't tell the whole story.

It is absolutely dumb. It's calculated based on exit velocity and launch angle, but it doesn't take into account a million things, not the least the difference in the ball from year to year. Which is why Yordan's expected slug is 780 but it's based on stats from a juicer baseball. It's a useless stat, except to tell you if a player is hitting a ball hard and with good launch angles, which can already be figured out with other metrics.

Edit: My B, started going off on expected ba when you were probably still talking about catch prob.
